13u PG Series: Day 4 Quick Hits

13u PG Series Classic Quick Hits: Day 1 | Days 2-3

Wyatt Vincent (2025, Nixa, Mo.) started in right field for Midwest and had himself a day. Vincent was 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. He hit balls hard all day and was finding the barrel consistently with every swing. Vincent has good hands through the zone and looks for pitches early in counts to do damage with. Vincent will look to end on another high note Friday as the 13u PG Series Classic comes to an end.

The starting pitcher for Central on Thursday was lefthander Charlie Foster (2024, Snellville, Ga.). Foster had great command with his pitches throwing a lot of strikes. He was able to throw to both sides of the plate which kept hitters off balance as he induced weak contact. Foster threw six innings not allowing an earned run and striking out seven batters.

Canyon Compton (2024, Winnfield, La.) had himself a day at the plate on Thursday. Compton went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. Compton has a big frame at 5-foot-8, 170-pounds and shows good athleticism. He has good pop to all fields as he is always looking to drive the ball into the gaps. Compton will be a fun player to watch grow up and improve as a ballplayer.

Bryan Mateo Ortega (2024, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) started at third base for Dominican La Javilla and had a solid day. Ortega played really good defense at the hot corner showing off a strong arm and good hands. Using his strong 5-foot-8 frame, he has the ability to drive the baseball and that is exactly what he did on Thursday. Ortega went 3-for-3 with one double, two RBI and a run scored.

Brandon Newland (2024, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) started on the mound for North and threw an absolute gem of a ballgame. Newland threw six innings allowing only five hits and no runs while striking out five. Newland was absolutely dominant on the mound and looked comfortable throwing any pitch in any count. He threw a lot of strikes and worked very quickly. He also hit in the leadoff spot going 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Starting on the mound for Mid South was Clint Seymore (2024, Lawrenceburg, Tenn.). He gave his team a great start throwing four innings without allowing an earned run and striking out four. Seymore had his fastball up to 73 mph and threw it with a lot of confidence. He went right at hitters allowing his defense to work behind him. At 5-foot-10, he really gets down the mound and commands his pitches very well.

Deep South captures Series

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A gloomy Friday afternoon in Fort Myers unified more than merely individuals contesting collectively, but two talented Freshmen teams that displayed a great deal of sportsmanship. Deep South slid past Puerto Rico in the title game of the Freshman PG Series Classic, 5-1. Considering their rough start in pool play, going 0-3, Deep South came out relentless in the playoffs defeating opponents in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds and closed the feat with a championship victory against Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico was up first on the board in the bottom of the first scoring their single run in the game that came from Jose Torres Rivera (2022, Puerto Rico). Deep South doubled that shortly after in the top of the second with runs scored by Yoel Tejeda Jr (2022, Davie, Fla.) and Xavier Vergne (2022, Miramar, Fla.). Tejeda Jr and Vergne each went 2-for-3 in the game...

After five days of competitive baseball, Legion Baseball emerged as champions at the Perfect Game WWBA Championship, completing an impressive tournament run with a victory over ‘28 San DIego Ghost 10-3 in the championship game at Surprise Stadium. The tournament brought together talented programs from across the West and beyond, with teams competing in the 15U and 16U divisions. Throughout the week, players showcased their skills in front of coaches, teammates, and families while battling through pool play and the championship bracket for the opportunity to hoist the trophy. 2026 MLB Draft: Roster Challenge

With the 2026 MLB Draft complete, our own draft team put together a fun exercise. Using a snake style draft format, we each had to build a roster using players selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. There was one catch. Each team could select only one player from each of the first 10 rounds, plus one player from Rounds 11-20.
