12 PGAA's up for Futures Game

The 2019 MLB All-Star Futures Game rosters have been announced, and the rosters are yet again dominated by prospects who participated in Perfect Game events during their prep years.

The Futures Game, which will be held on July 7 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, has a new format this season. The two rosters, which had previously been split into Team USA and Team World, will now be split into National and American League rosters.

Of the 50 players selected for the game, 35 call themselves Perfect Game alums, while 12 of them participated in the prestigious Perfect Game All-American Classic before starting their professional careers. The following players were selected for both the PG All-American Classic and this year’s MLB All-Star Futures Game:

Lefthanded pitcher DL Hall (Orioles, 2016 PGAAC), righthanded pitcher Matt Manning (Tigers, 2015 PGAAC), third baseman Nolan Jones (Indians, 2015 PGAAC), shortstop Royce Lewis (Twins, 2016 PGAAC), outfielder Jordon "Jo" Adell (Angels, 2016 PGAAC), outfielder Jarred Kelenic (Mariners, 2017 PGAAC), righthanded pitcher Ian Anderson (Braves, 2015 PGAAC), lefthanded pitcher MacKenzie Gore (Padres, 2016 PGAAC), third baseman Nolan Gorman (Cardinals, 2017 PGAAC), shortstop Gavin Lux (Dodgers, 2015 PGAAC), outfielder Monte Harrison (Marlins, 2013 PGAAC), and outfielder Alek Thomas (Diamondbacks, 2017 PGAAC).
