Final 2019 National HS Top 50

National High School Top 50: May 21
 
The 2019 edition of the Perfect Game National High School Top 50 comes to a close as Cypress (Calif.) holds onto the No. 1 spot and ends the season as National Champions. Argyle (Texas), last year's national champion, finished the season with a 40-1-1 record en route to another state championship while IMG Academy (Fla.) comes in at No. 3 after finishing at No. 1 following the end of their regular season. No. 4 Colleyville Heritage (Texas) captured their own state championship after being led by the No. 2 overall pick in the draft in Bobby Witt Jr., while Blanchard (Okla.) finishes at No. 5 after a perfect season and a state title. 

Cypress was a strong team from the very beginning of the season but took the next step during the playoffs as they downed a number of talented teams to get to the state title. They've had big wins over previously ranked teams such as Orange Lutheran, Huntington Beach, Yucaipa, La Mirada and Ayala before taking down Harvard-Westlake in the state finals. They were led by talented two-way senior Cameron Repetti while also being kickstarted by standout freshman, and 2018 PG Select 14u Festival participant, Luke Davis. 

There were 33 state champions in the final edition of the High School rankings and congratulations to all of the teams in the country who god to hoist their trophies at the end of the season. The teams in the HS Top 50 that won state titles were as follows:

Our high school coverage is not done, however, as coming out on Friday are our annual High School State Players of the Year awards. We will name a state-by-state player of the year as well as three national awards that are the Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Two-Way Player of the Year. PHILADELPHIA – When the folks at Perfect Game reached out to invite him to pitch in the 2026 PG All-Star Game for rising sophomores and juniors, Cullen Scott had one request. “You mind if I get a couple of at-bats, too?” Along with his dad, Scott traveled from the family’s home in Texas to Citizens Bank Park. Year in and year out when the best young talent from across the country is packed into one national-level event the arms tend to win the week. That feels especially true in today’s amateur game where velocity, pitch design and high-level training in general are being introduced earlier than ever, allowing young pitchers to develop impactful stuff at a faster rate than younger hitters can consistently catch up to it.
