JUCO Top 25: April 16 | Top 300 JUCO Prospects

It's probably pretty fair to say that here, in the last full week of April, we have a pretty good idea who the favorites to make it to Grand Junction are across the country. Obviously, things aren't done yet, but given the consistent excellence of those at the top of our rankings, along with the disparity of where those teams are from, one can at least sort of hazard a guess.

Wabash Valley continues to pace the country, remaining at No. 1, which is where they've been since the start of the season. Likewise, Northwest Florida State started the season at No. 2 and remain there again this week after clinching the Panhandle Conference title, though they're still staring the Florida state tournament in the face as their remaining obstacle to Junction. 

Those two have been at the top all season long, and while there has obviously been a good deal of movement throughout the remaining of the rankings over the course of the last three months, this week in particular saw the top third of the list stay the same. Teams ranked 1-8 all remained the same this week, with Iowa Western jumping into the Top 10 at No. 9, and College of Southern Nevada rounding out the Top 10 at No. 10.

There were two newcomers this week, with Harford (Md.) jumping from off the list up to No. 17. Harford, at 39-5, are riding a 29-game winning streak and are obviously as hot as anyone in the country. The other newcomer this week is Sinclair, out of Ohio, a team that at 38-7 find themselves at No. 24 overall this week. 

Obviously there are several big-time series' down the stretch and I have my eye especially on the College of Southern Nevada vs. Salt Lake and Wabash Valley vs. John A. Logan series, along with several others. It's already an exciting stretch run in most parts of the country right now, and with playoffs looming and Grand Junction on the horizon, now is certainly one of the most exciting times of the year if you're a fan of JUCO baseball.
