JUCO Top 25: March 19 | Top 300 JUCO Prospects

We've reached the point in the JUCO season where we're going to start to see some separation, and in many ways we already have. The top 6 stayed the same this week, as they did a week ago, and I can't recall a time in my history of doing these rankings where that sort of thing happened. Now, that's not to say these teams have necessarily established themselves by any stretch as they obviously have to keep winning, but there is some level of respect that goes along with sustained success at the top of the rankings like this.

Wabash Valley continues to just punish opposing teams, and that machine that head coach Rob Fournier and his assistants have built seems to be firing on all cylinders with zero sign of slowing down any time soon. Northwest Florida State continues to pile up wins down in the Panhandle, Walters State is running through everyone in the Mid-South, Southern Nevada is dominating as they have all season and McLennan is starting to pull away in Texas. San Joaquin Delta, maybe the strongest No. 6 in the history of this poll, just swept three games from previously-ranked Sacramento City to run their record to 21-4.

Wallace-Dothan has been strong all season and consistently climbed, they find themselves this week at a season-high No. 7 overall. John A. Logan keeps playing extremely well, and it looks like that series with Wabash towards the end of the season is going to be just as good as everyone anticipated. LSU-Eunice climbs back into the Top 10 this week at No. 9 as they continue to be the class of Division II, and Johnson County, on a 16-game winning streak, rises three spots to No. 10 overall.

Central Arizona had a big week, including a two game sweep of South Mountain. We mentioned this before, but bcause Arizona as a state is so strong this year in JUCO baseball in general it's becoming harder and harder to get a read on who the true class of the region is because everyone just keeps beating each other up. I'm sure it's both extremely exciting and extremely nerve-wracking to compete in that every single day. Jones County was another big riser this week as they continue their assault on Mississippi JUCO baseball, they've run out to a 20-2 mark, though a big series with Itawamba this weekend looms large as a big test.

Iowa Western is back in the rankings this week with a big up arrow next to their names as they re-enter the Top 25 at No. 18 and are poised to continue climbing. Out in California, Ohlone joins the party this week as well at No. 25, their first time in the Top 25 this season. Head coach Mike Curran's club is off to a 20-5 start and an early two-game lead in the Coast Pacific Conference.

They haven't been spoken about much this season after a bit of a rough start, but two-time defending national champion Chipola has quietly won 11 straight and now sits at 20-9. They'll see No. 2 Northwest Florida State this weekend in what is likely the series of the week, and it's going to be a good measuring stick for both clubs from a national perspective.

Rankings are based on games through Sunday, March 24.
