JUCO Top 25: March 12 | Top 300 JUCO Prospects

It was a relatively steady week up and down the JUCO ranks with many teams just kind of continuing to win and holding steady in the rankings as a result. In fact, the top six teams stayed the same from last week, and while there was some jockeying around in spots, there really were no big risers or fallers.

As mentioned, all of Wabash Valley, Northwest Florida State, Walters State, College of Southern Nevada, McLennan and San Joaquin Delta stayed the same in the rankings from a week ago as each had winning weeks. The College of Central Florida has been as steady a climber as any club in the country this season and they now are up to No. 7 overall at 28-3. South Mountain has been another team that has done nothing but climb this season and is doing so both in quantity and quality of wins. They'll get another test this week when they do a home-and-home with No. 16 Central Arizona.

Speaking of big upcoming series, this weekend will also feature one of the more fun annual matchups when Sacramento City and San Joaquin Delta tangle up in NorCal. Both are ranked, as they usually are year after year, and this matchup is usually a really nice precursor to the eventual state tournament. Things are heating up down in Mississippi as well with both Pearl River and Jones in and rising up the rankings. They won't have to see each other for some time yet, with April 30 surely being circled on both calendars, but it's hard not to look forward to that matchup given their combined record of 32-3 so far.

This looks to be a particularly strong year in the state of Arizona. With South Mountain (8), Arizona Western (12), Central Arizona (16), and Cochise (20), the state has four representatives in the JUCO Top 25. They've already gotten their first shots in at one another this season, but it should be an exciting April once they start to play each other again. It's going to be an exciting finish out in the desert, that's for sure.

Rankings are based on games through Sunday, March 17.
