2019 Preseason JUCO Top 25 | Top 25 Team ReportsTop 300 JUCO Prospects

We're at potentially the weirdest point in the season in terms of the JUCO calendar. Although we're several weeks into the season, technically, the regional disparity between north and south in terms of games played is especially out of whack. This happens every year, of course, given the realities of climate, but it's always fascinating to look down the list of records in the columns beneath and see that disparity. One really has to feel for the northern clubs at this time of year.

It's been a very fun first several weeks of the season and there has already been a substantial amount of movement up and down the list. The top of the list did a fair job of staying intact, with Wabash Valley (Ill.) holding steady at No. 1 with a 5-1 start and Northwest Florida State staying right on their heels at 13-5. McLennan rose a spot to No. 3 and are off to a very good start down in Texas at 13-4, while Walters State also rose a spot to No. 4. San Joaquin Delta is off to a hot start in NorCal, as are several clubs, and they rise three spots to round out the top five.

College of Southern Nevada has had a monster start to the season at 17-4, they took a big jump up No. 6 overall from No. 13. Nick Hernandez (pictured) has been an integral part to that run for CSN, as he's already hit six homers this year, good for second nationally, and his 31 RBI lead the NJCAA. San Jacinto has had a good start, as expected, and climbed to No. 7. Reigning NJCAA D-II National Champs LSU-Eunice are picking up right where they left off at 15-1, and as such rose from No. 14 to No. 8 this week. Arizona Western, at 13-4, is off to a really hot start and rose 14 spots to No. 9, while Central Arizona is right behind them at No. 10.

There are also several newcomers to the Top 25 this week, several of whom were found in our initial Top 50. The College of Central Florida raced out to a 17-1 start through Sunday, beating some really good teams in the process, and they make their rankings debut in 2019 this week at No. 14. Cypress (Calif.) is off to a very good start in SoCal and as a result they climb from No. 32 in the preseason to No. 20 this week. Pearl River (Miss.) rose several spots from No. 26 to No. 22, Santa Fe (Fla.) moved up from No. 29 to No. 23 and Cisco (Texas) closes out this week's Top 25 at No. 25, up 10 spots from their preseason ranking at No. 35.

These rankings will now run weekly through the end of the season, and there will assuredly be much more movement up/down/on/off the list, especially once winter relinquishes it's icy grasp on the northern part of the country.

Rankings are based on games through Sunday, Feb. 24.
