Perfect Game returns to Europe

PG European showcase and tournaments made official

The first showcase to officially take place in Europe for Perfect Game has been set for May 29, 2019, in the continued effort by PG to expand its horizons in growing the game of baseball.

One year after successful ventures into hosting its first European events with the 12u and 15u European Classic, this event will give players from across Europe the opportunity to display their abilities in front of Perfect Game’s scouting department. The showcase will take place at the Draci Brno Stadium in Brno, Czech Republic, which hosted the inaugural events for the two PG events in 2018.

Participants will take part in skill testings which include the 60-yard dash, infield, outfield and catcher evaluations as well as timing exit velocities; pitchers will get the chance to throw bullpens to track their velocities. Upon completion of the showcase, players will receive their written evaluations – added to their online player profiles – to get a gauge on the areas of their game they are strong at, and for others, areas of their game to seek to improve in the future.

The 2018 Perfect Game events in Europe brought players from the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Belarus and Hungary together in competition, and it is the hope that players from these countries, and more, will make the venture to Brno to partake in a Perfect Game showcase for the first time.

Along with the first PG European Showcase, the second year of tournaments held overseas have also been announced with the 12u and 16u PG European Classics to take place May 30-June 2. These tournaments will fall under a similar format to what players this past year got to experience, with teams battling it out in pool play and culminating in playoff games to decide the champion. Players will take part in the PG Series Challenge skill tests, which include the 30-yard dash and recording exit velocities during the week.

The 12u and 16u tournaments will take place on the fields of the City Baseball Stadium and the HROCH Sports Complex in Brno-jih-Komarov, Czech Republic.
