Team Miami wins 10u Super25 Florida Super Qualifier

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Team Miami captured an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after a two-out single from Francis Garcia, followed by an RBI triple off the bat of Jonathan Paniagua. Paniagua was also the starting pitcher for Team Miami and fired two shutout innings with two strikeouts. Yovan Martinez followed Paniagua with four scoreless innings of relief and fanned four Kangaroo Court batters.

Team Miami added another run in the top of the third inning for a final score of 2-0. Rhys Brush was outstanding in relief for the Kangaroo Court Roos, limiting Team Miami to no runs and just one hit over the final three innings.

Madden Geiger of the Kangaroo Court Roos was named the tournament's MV-Pitcher after compiling a 1-0 record with 11 strikeouts and allowed just one run in 6 1/3 innings for a 1.10 ERA. Juan ‘J.C.’ Velazco of Team Miami was named the tournament MVP after finishing the weekend 6-for-7, good for a tournament best .857 average with a triple, three RBI and four stolen bases.

Monarchs dominate in 12u championship

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Gulf Coast Monarchs took home the 2018 Perfect Game 12u Southeast Championship and finished the tournament a perfect 5-0 thanks to a dominant pitching effort from Jason Bello. Bello tossed six shutout innings and struck out five, and added a double and two RBI at the plate.

Fidel Alviar IV finished 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Monarchs offensively. He earned tournament MVP honors after finishing the weekend with a .385 average, two doubles and a tournament-high seven RBI. Alex Kuenzle garnered MV-Pitcher honors after striking out every batter he faced across 4 1/3 innings pitched. The lefty was 1-0 and surrendered just one hit and allowed no runs on the weekend.

Elite Squad Outlaws mash way to championship

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The championship game at the 2018 PG 13u Southeast Championship was a matchup between 4-0 Elite Squad Outlaws and 3-1 Turn 2 Baseball. Elite Squad was smashing the ball all game with 15 total hits. Multiple Elite Squad players tallied two RBI in the game but right fielder Jeter Polledo and extra hitter Brandon Wright really shined with three hits, two RBI, and two runs scored apiece. Turn 2's third baseman Carter White had three hits and an RBI while first baseman Joey Citrola finished the game with two hits and two RBI.

Citrola was also named the MV-Pitcher of the tournament after finishing 1-0, striking out 10, allowing only one hit and zero earned runs. Elite Squad's Pablo Torres was named the MVP of the tournament finishing with eight hits and 10 RBI.
