The League MVP, Zack Tower (Franklin Pierce), had a huge season offensively while showing big-time power from the right side of the plate, leading the league in home runs (18) and RBI (50). Righthanded pitcher Austen Michel (Dartmouth) was named the Pitcher of the Year with an ERA of 1.55 and a WHIP that was under 1.00.

Youth was the theme of the list of top prospects from this summer as six of the top 10 prospects will be entering their freshman year. 2016 Perfect Game All-American Philip Clarke was named the No. 1 prospect for the Futures League and will be attending Vanderbilt this fall as a freshman.

Top 5 Prospect Reports

1. Philip Clarke, c, Marthas Vineyard (Vanderbilt/FR in 2018)
2016 Perfect Game All-American had a big year on the summer circuit as he comes in as the No. 1 prospect in the Futures League. Clarke did nothing but hit during the summer circuit and finished with a .337 batting average in 47 games played. There is power potential in the swing and strong frame and he collected four homers in 169 at-bats this summer. There was an element of swing-and-miss to the game but the hitting tools are very loud. The progression of his defensive skills will be something to monitor, and if he can stick at the position he could improve his draft stock to one of the better collegiate catchers.
