2017 Top Prospects

Thomas Webster  RHP - 2017 - Omaha, NE
University of the Sciences in Philadelphia

Webster has the obvious pitcher tools standing at 6'9" with tremendous physical projection remaining. His arm worked easily through the back. He threw from a three quarter slot with a fastball that worked in the low 80's and topped out at 85. He also showed a curveball with 11/5 shape.

Zachary Baptist  SS - 2017 - Phoenix, AZ
Glendale CC

Baptist had the best bat-to-ball ability of anyone in attendance. He showed a very compact swing path with a direct to ball ability with clear barrel control. He also showed good actions from the infield and balance on the move. He also posted an impressive 6.92 time in the 60 yard dash.

Trey Winget  OF - 2017 - Washington, UT
St. Mary's/Gateway CC (AZ)

Winget showed tremendous levels of athleticism throughout the showcase workouts and saw it carry into games. He posted the fastest 60 time in the event with a 6.61 time and saw it play well in games. He also showed a very strong arm up to 92 from the outfield and good bat speed to match at the plate.

Connor Denning  C - 2017 - Phoenix, AZ

Denning showed an impressive array of tools starting with a 6.94 time in the 60 yard dash and throwing 88 mph with good carry from the outfield and also showed sound actions from the infield. Showed good bat speed with a consistent line drive swing plane with a simple shift into contact. He saw the arm strength carry over to the mound as well up to 86 mph from an over the top slot.

Jarficur Parker  SS - 2017 - Dallas, TX
Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Parker showed high level actions in defensive workouts with good twitch and showed the ability to throw from multiple angles. He showed a very consistent swing at the plate with good bat and hand speed with an inside out hand path. He also posted an impressive 6.74 60 yard dash time.

Clifford Pradd  SS - 2017 - Riverside, CA
Orange Coast College

Pradd showed smooth actions in the infield during workouts and in game. He ranged well to both sides with arm strength up to 82 mph. At the plate he showed raw bat and hand speed with an all fields approach. Also had a 91 mph exit velocity tested on Pocket Radar.

Joshua Romero  SS - 2017 - San Lorenzo, CA
San Francisco State

Romero showed impressive accuracy and range on the move during infield drills with a quick release on throws. Showed the ability to impact the ball at the plate with power projection remaining. He also pitched creating good leverage and angle with a fastball that topped out at 86 mph.

Cesare DeLuca  LHP - 2017 - Chandler, AZ
Niagara/Gateway CC (AZ)

DeLuca showed some of the best pitchibility on the mound using a fastball that worked in the upper 70's with short life. He used a full arm action and showed good feel for sequencing his three pitch mix and keeping hitters off balance. His changeup was his best pitch with late fade and good depth.

Angel Ruiz Jr  OF - 2017 - West Covina, CA

Ruiz Jr started his workouts with a strong 7.07 time in the 60 yard dash. He showed good arm strength from the outfield with good accuracy and fielded the ball cleanly. At the plate he started with a leg lift trigger and showed a smooth line drive plane to the ball.

Ryan Baranowski  C - 2017 - Valley Center, CA
Southwestern University

Baranowski showed a very clean transfer from behind the plate with a clean transfer and gained ground well into throws. He showed good strength at the plate as well with an up the middle and pull approach. He drove the ball well off the barrel with a clean, efficient hand path.


2018 Top Prospects

Jacob Vesecky  C - 2018 - Phoenix, AZ
Evansville

Vesecky showed tremendous offensive upside at the plate with legitimate power potential, incorporating his lower half well and firing his hips to the ball. He showed good arm strength and an accurate arm from behind the plate as well.

Jack Silverman  C - 2018 - Scottsdale, AZ
New Mexico/Yavapai College

Silverman had some of the best talent behind the plate as an underclassmen with a very strong, accurate arm that played well in games. At the plate he showed quick hands with a compact hand path with good strength through contact.
