Photo: Perfect Game

Perfect Game has released its official All-Tournament Team from the 2014 12u BCS Finals.  The event was held June 19-24 at the East Cobb Baseball Complex in Marietta, Ga.  The players selected were based on first-hand observations as well as statistical data compiled using GameChanger, the official scoring application of Perfect Game and the BCS.

MVP:  Garrett McCraw, West Raleigh 12u
MV-Pitcher: Clayton Weatherly, Home Plate Vandy

• Hitters had to have 15 plate appearances to qualify unless they stood out in at least one statistical category other than average.
• Hitters are filtered by batting average, but that isn't how the players were selected.
• Pitchers had to have pitched at least 3 innings to qualify.
• Pitchers are filtered by ERA, but that isn't how the players were selected.

Please note that of the 281 players that had at least one plate appearance, 166 of them hit .300 or better. 110 of the same group hit .400 or better, making it a difficult event to choose players from. 74 of the 281 players with at least one plate appearance did make the team, making the cutoff and overall decisions especially difficult for this event.

MLK East Scout Notes Recap

Perfect Game Staff

‘28 OF Jakob Groeschel (OH) continues to impress with the bat on the circuit, picked up 2 2Bs in the first game today. Really athletic, went 4.4 on turn; easy to dream on all the traits. #MLKEast @PG_OhioValley pic.twitter.com/wOIwnGKnkg — Perfect Game Florida (@Florida_PG) January 17, 2026 2028 OF Jakob Groeschel (Springfield, Ohio) broke out at this event last year hitting a casual .909, and although he didn’t turn in quite the same performance, he hit a strong .462 with 4 extra-base hits, 5 walks, 5 bags and only struck out once. He’s a pretty dynamic athlete who can do a lot of things well, but the bat is the calling card as he just lives on the barrel and has no problem handling all kinds of pitching. It’s a simple swing, but he’s got fast hands and he can really impact the ball without being overly physical yet.  2030 RHP Michael Vazquez...
