3 Gold vs. 6 White Highlights

10/30/2022

Andres Lopez (2025 2B, York, SC) crushed the ball all weekend, including two solid barrels on Sunday, one that went for a triple up the right center field alley.  He also was very aggressive on the bases and stole a couple easily.

Isaac Hobbs (2024 C, Arlington, VA) was solid on both sides of the ball, easily hosing a runner at second base with a perfect throw on a stolen base attempt and picking up to knocks at the plate.  One of his hits was a triple up the left center field alley.

Andrew Thomas (2026 SS, Climax, NC) had the only home run of the game and he had to work hard for hit, legging out an inside the park home run after crushing a ball into the right field corner.  He also picked up another base hit to right field.

Charles Isaac (2026 RHP, Winston-Salem, NC) has a profile 6-3/170 build and a loose and fast arm that really projects.  He was up to 84 mph on his fastball to go with a sharp breaking ball and even some feel for a change up.  He's a high ceiling arm moving forward.

Vincent Pannutti (2026 C, Pilot Mountain, NC) had an outstanding game on both sides of the ball as well.  He crushed three balls at the plate, picking up a double and a triple by driving the right center field gap along with flying out to deep center field.  He also showed tons of energy and good technique in his blocking skills on defense behind the plate.

John Lobs (2024 RHP, Winston-Salem, NC) is a strong two-way player who got his turn on the mound today.  He threw three shutout innings, striking out four hitters, while working 80-83 with his fastball and throwing tons of strikes down in the zone with the pitch.

Ty Davis (2025 3B, Denver, NC) has shown a strong bat this weekend and he also showed some promise on the mound.  He had a very efficient two inning outing Sunday, throwing 69% strikes with a fastball that worked 80-83 to go with a curveball he consistently landed.

4-Green vs. 5-Navy Game Highlights

10/30/2022

Ethan Covello (2023 C, Durham, CT) smoked an inside the park homer into right centerfield. Short, easy swing with obvious pop to right center. He's had a really good weekend in all phases and continues this trend today.

Colin Davis (2026 SS, Langhorne, PA) pulled a single into left field to drive in a run. He has a loose, compact swing with advanced bat speed. The frame has some room for growth and he is already starting to tap into the strength.

Ryan Clark (2026 C, Akron, OH) hit a single hard the other way in the early innings. He stayed on the outside fastball well, showing the gap to gap approach. He's a twitchy player with intent in the swing.

Luke Childress (2024 3B, Tazewell, VA) came out of the bullpen and was really good. He sat right around 80 mph and touched 83 mph with feel to spin a sharp 11-5 shaped curveball. He has good arm speed and works down the mound efficiently.

Hunter Atkins (2023 3B, Randleman, NC) laced another single back up the middle. He has one of the quicker bats in attendance and has been good in all phases this weekend. He is a strong player with jump off the barrel. He also got on the mound and lived in the upper-70s with a downer shaped breaking ball mixed in.

Chase Ruben (2024 RHP, Chapel Hill, NC) collected an RBI with a single through the left side. He has a short swing with good bat speed through the zone.

Ben Reese (2025 OF, Goldsboro, NC) is a twitchy player that has collected a couple base hits this weekend. He stays short to the baseball and it results in a lot of barrels.

Luke Newman (2026 3B, Washington Crossing, PA) turned around a fastball and hit one back up the middle for a single. He has a lean frame with some more power coming soon.

5-Navy vs. 6-White Game Highlights

10/29/2022

Cole Ivady (2024 RHP, Wilmington, NC) came out in the first inning and sat in the upper-80s with the fastball. He got it up to 89 mph a couple times. He would mix in a changeup and a breaking ball later in counts. It's a loose, quick arm with good extension down the mound. Has looked dominant with three strikeouts already. He also smoked a triple into right field in the first. Excellent performance.

Russell (Rusty) Haswell (2024 RHP, Hubert, NC) smoked a ball into the left center gap for a triple. He showed a flat path through the zone with good bat speed and whip through the zone. He's also an above average runner which was on display on the triple. He also got on the mound and sat in the mid-80s with a sharp, downer-shaped breaking ball.

Broderyk Miller (2024 LHP, Newport, NC) is a long, lean left hander that threw the ball well in his three inning start. Fastball got up to 81 mph with angle and feel for a breaking ball. He still has a lot of room for growth in the frame.

Luke Heaps (2025 RHP, Garner, NC) rolled through his first inning of relief. The fastball got into the upper-70s with much more in the tank. He has long arms which create some angle and deception on the mound.

Matthew Mansbery (2026 SS, Brecksville, OH) did a lot of good things in his first game action of the weekend. The lean athlete made a charging play at shortstop which continues what we saw in the workout portion and also had a double and a single the other way.

Luke Childress (2024 3B, Tazewell, VA) hammered a ball back up the middle for a single in the later innings. He's a physically built kid with bat speed and obvious feel for the barrel.

James West (2026 RHP, Florence, SC) looked solid on the mound in his relief appearance. The fastball sat in the upper-70s and grabbed 80 mph with a big shaped breaking ball.

Jake Michalek (2024 SS, Winston Salem, NC) hit a ball hard the other way in the ninth inning for a triple. He's a taller, physical player with some jump off the barrel that has been on display throughout the day.

3 Gold vs. 4 Green Highlights

10/29/2022

Luke Hemric (2025, LHP, Apex, N.C) is a long and projectable 6-2/175 southpaw with a live arm and two very good present pitches.  He worked in the 81-84 mph range with his fastball with hard running life at times from an easy low effort arm action.  Hemric’s slider was a weapon as well, checking in the mid-70’s with 2300+ rpm and nice tight biting life.  He also showed promise with a 72 mph change up that he deadened the spin very well on.

Kyson Rinnert (2025, RHP, Marion, N.C.) grabs your attention as a long limbed 6-4/170 youngster with a loose arm and the ability to throw strikes.  He worked up to 81 mph to go with a 65-67 mph curveball that had good downer tilt along with some feel for a change up.  Rinnert cruised through his three-inning outing.

Camden Hayworth (2026, LHP, Kingsport, Tenn.) really stands out for his strong 6-4/215 build.  He repeats his delivery well for his age and showed good command of a fastball that touched 82 mph.  Hayworth also landed an upper 60’s slurve well and showed nice maturity in mixing his pitches and locations for his age.

Braden Polsky (2025, RHP, Cornelius, N.C.) has an athletic 6-0/175 build and lots of quick twitch athleticism.  He works from the stretch with drop and drive lower half mechanics and a quick and compact arm action.  The ball comes out of his hand easily and his 84-86 mph fastball had carry and played up in velo.  He also mixed in a low 70’s slider that showed promise and a unique power 78 mph change up with late cutting life.

In a game that had lots of dominant pitching earlier and not much assertive hitting, it took another pitcher, John Lobs (2024, RHP, Winston-Salem, N.C.) to deliver the game’s first big blow, a hard hit triple up the right center field alley that plated two runs.  Lobs showed some power in batting practice as well.

Andres Lopez (2025, 2B, York, S.C) barrel up the ball hard and often in batting practice and the left-handed hitter did the same thing in the game, lashing a clean single and hitting a loud drive to medium deep center field.

Batting Practice Highlights

10/29/2022

Braden Polsky (2025 RHP, Cornelius, NC) is a right handed pitcher but he has some juice in his swing and created lots of carry to left center field frequently during his round.

Andres Lopez (2025 2B, York, SC) has some twitchiness in his left handed swing and stays on time while swinging hard.  More strength and he's going to be making some very solid contact.

Austin Moran (2025 SS, Huntersville, NC) hits from a tall and balanced stance with a short and quick swing that's pretty direct to the ball.  He turns his hips well and project well as he gets stronger.

Hunter Atkins (2023 3B, Randleman, NC) is a strong and mature hitter with lots of strength in his hands and at contact.  He hit under control during his whole round, lining balls up both gaps, but there is no doubt there is big power there if he had opened up his swing.

Colin Davis (2026 SS, Langhorne, PA) has a nice swing for a freshman and consistently turned hard on the ball during his round.  His loose extension projects plenty of power in the future.

Luke Newman (2026 3B, Washington Crossing, PA) is another freshman with promise with the bat.  He has a nice aggressive approach and showed an accurate barrel.  When he adds strength to his 5-9/135 build, watch out.

Andrew Sands (2024 C, Rock Hill, SC) has very good mature strength at 5-11/215 and really generates some bat speed.  He has an uphill power-type approach and can really drive a ball when he squares it up.

Neal Swindell (2026 OF, High Point, NC) has a big 6-4/190 frame but hasn't really started to get strong yet.  His present left handed swing is loose and smooth and accurate and he just needs some real strength to start driving the ball.

Michael Sabella (2024 C, Cornelius, NC) is a big 6-2/190 switch-hitter who has real bat speed from the left side.  He creates plenty of barrel whip and there's plenty of power there as well.

Brett Kutner (2025 1B, Raleigh, NC) has a very nice 6-4/195 build and a loose swing with good present bat speed.  He really projects as a left handed hitter as he gets stronger and gets more reps.

Jentz Steiner (2024 3B, Holly Springs, NC) has nice bat speed and stays quick and compact into the baseball.  He worked gap to gap consistently with good carry and some back spin.
