Luke Heaps is a 2025 RHP/OF with a 6-5 168 lb. frame from Garner, NC who attends South Garner. Tall, lean frame with long limbs and room to add strength. 7.61 runner in the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher with loads of projectability, high leg lift to balance, clean arm action to a high three-quarters release. Drop and drive directly to the plate, front foot lands slightly open, works down the mound efficiently, gets easy extension down the slope. Fastball got up to 83 mph (2131 RPM), spun a tight curveball, up to 68 mph (2420 RPM) and also showed a changeup with arm-side action in the mid-70s (1735 RPM). Has high upside on the mound as he fills out in the coming years. Secondary outfielder, charges grounders hard, fielding the ball with one hand to the side, long gather and arm swing to a higher slot release, accurate throws right around the bag. Recorded throws up to 78 mph. Right-handed hitter, wide stance, toe-tap trigger to get the swing started, inside out barrel path to the baseball, showed some barrel awareness. Longer swing that worked mostly to the opposite field in the round. Excellent Student. Named to 2022 Fall Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
