6-Green VS 7-Red Game Highlights

6/15/2022

Graham Keen (2027 C, Pittsburgh, PA) got the start for team green early Wednesday morning. He went two innings giving up one run while striking out two. Keens fastball 77-82 with a 2200 RPM. Graham showed a tight slider at times in the zone. The right hander has a long slender frame with a ton of projection.  He works with a fairly smooth operation with a high 3/4s arm slot.  Keen also drove an RBI single to the right center.

Jack Woda (2026 C, Arlington, VA) has continued to find barrels so far this week as today he found a few more in game. Woda drove a triple down the right field line for a triple as well as he smashed a line drive to left for a single. The right handed hitter showed a gap to gap approach with plenty of athleticism on the base paths.

Justin San Miguel (2026 SS, Ocean Springs, MS) showed easy in game bat speed as he drove a double over the right fielders head as well as lined a single into left. San Miguel showed a quick trigger and hands as he gets extended while producing natural loft. He has present strength in his hands as he showed some natural pop to his bat.

Tyler Ball (2026 1B, Griffin, GA) had three hits in the game spraying the baseball to all fields. He drove a triple over the left fielders head, lined a single up the middle and lined a double down the right field line.  He gets his bat head through the zone with plenty of effort as he seems to find barrels often. The strength projects well moving forward.

Hudson Smith (2027 SS, Madison, AL) had two hits in the game as he drove a ball over the over the center fielders head for a triple as well as he lined an RBI single to right center earlier in the game.  Smith showed good bat speed in the zone with good barrel control as well.

Isaiah McKenzie (2025 SS, Lafayette, GA) struck out two batters in one inning for team red. He showed a straight fastball sitting 76-80 to go along with a tight 12-6 breaking that he would be able to throw  in the zone for strikes. Mckenzie has a quick arm with good hip rotation and he works with a solid pace on the mound.

Ethan Gilchrist (2027 SS, Raleigh, NC) looked comfortable at the plate as he lined a fastball up the middle for a single as well as drove a double over the left fielders head for a double. Gilcrest showed quick hands at the plate, with decent strength as well as an advanced approach for his age.

Batting Practice Highlights

6/14/2022

Ethan Gilchrist (2027 SS, Raleigh, NC) has a longer lean build that shows a solid feel for the barrel from the right side of the box. The intent in the swing is what showed out the most in this look as he was able to drive baseball deep to the pull side with more to come as he adds strength.

Graham Keen (2027 C, Pittsburgh, PA) starts in a more upright stance but was able to still get to his launching point with a hanging leg lift. The power that comes from the ground pairs well with his bat speed allowing him to catch up to higher velocity that he will see down the road.

Jack Woda (2026 C, Arlington, VA) has a mature approach in the right-handed batter’s box before firing the mostly level bat path and staying on plane with the ball through contact. The bat speed projects well for the young hitter with more to come as he adds strength.

Justin San Miguel (2026 SS, Ocean Springs, MS) showed some easy power to the pull side in his left-handed swing. He does a nice job getting to his wider base and firing the long smooth path to create the leverage he is looking for to create back spin on the ball.

Luca Candella (2026 RHP, Ponte Vedra, FL) has a good feel for his toe tap timing trigger as he was able to find the barrel at a high rate in his round of batting practice. The strength at the point of contact is huge for him as the ball seems to come off best from the middle to the pull side of the field.

Joshua Tuttle (2026 SS, Pelham, AL) looked good from both sides of the plate during his batting practice with a similar set up and swing on both sides of the plate. The barrel tracks on a smoother path through the hitting zone allowing him to create contact and ball flight with back spin and carry to the pull side.

Takumi Yoshida (2027 C, Brookline, MA) bring some serious intent with his right-handed swing. He is able to get the bat head through the hitting zone with some authority and impact the baseball. His frame and feel for the barrel show a nice projection for the future swing with more strength to be added to his good barrel feel.

Jaxson Wood (2026 SS, Hoover, AL) took one of the more professional rounds of batting practice on the day. The young right-handed hitter, came out and launched the ball to the pull side for two swig and then turned around and sprayed some baseballs to other parts of the yard all while showcasing some special bat speed.

Will Thiry (2026 OF, Peachtree Corners, GA) did most of his damage during batting practice by driving the baseball in the right-center-field gap. The left-handed swing shows good connection with a compact swing path and some adjustability to the swing that allows him to get the barrel to different parts of the zone.

6-Green VS 7-Red Game Highlights

6/14/2022

Isaiah McKenzie (2025 SS, Lafayette, GA) barreled ball up the middle in 1st inning. Short/easy swing and found the barrel. Lives in the middle of the field with a second barreled ball up the middle. Showed a strong arm with a good play in the hole at SS.

Travis Sun (2027 C, Brookhaven, GA) a versatile player who can play most positions. Receives the ball well behind the plate and good at blocking the ball for his age. Showed good frames on balls out of the zone as well.

Graham Segraves (2027 RHP, Madison, AL) showed a FB sitting 72-74 topping at 76. Flashed a few curveballs with exceptional spin rate (~2000 RPM), throws the fastball for a strike often. Showed good hustle with a double into LF on a ball slightly in the gap which led to a run for the red team

Will Thiry (2026 OF, Peachtree Corners, GA) showed that he can hit the BB by staying back and trusting his hands for a barreled single into CF.

Tyler Ball (2026 1B, Griffin, GA) got around on the inside curveball for an RBI double down the LF line. The simple stride and trigger the swing allows him to get the bat head out front consistently where he is able to impact the ball with strength to the pull side.

David Lindsay (2025 RHP, Caledonia, MS) lived on the outer half of the plate with majority of pitches thrown. Showed 3 pitch mix with fastball, curveball, and slider. Showed good change of speeds between CB and slider. FB sat between 69-72.

Jamarion Robinson (2026 LHP, Atmore, AL) filled up the zone well. FB sitting around 65-68 MPH. Commands the FB well. Mixed in a few changeups and curveballs, but mostly threw the fastball. 2k’s in the first inning. Did a good job at keeping hitters off balance. Gets off the rubber well and uses his lower half well. Fields position well, made a great play on a comebacker up the middle. Maintained his velocity well throughout his 3 IP. Fastball showed occasional cut into the right-handed hitters.

Graham Keen (2027 C, Pittsburgh, PA) a tall, lanky build who hasn’t grown into his body yet. Potential to gain strength/power as he matures. Worked a long at bat but had trouble staying back on the slow pitching. Nice contact for a hustle double in his second at-bat into left center.

Luca Candella (2026 RHP, Ponte Vedra, FL) a compact powerful build, Had a nice single in the third to the back side in RF, good jumps on first to easily steal second and stole third very next pitch. Very hard-hit ball right at SS in second at bat. Aggressive base runner. In his pitching outing, FB sitting 72-75, topped at 76 with signs of some late run. Curveball around 63-64. Works quick and efficiently on the mound. Commanded fastball when he gets in a groove. Lives on outer half consistently with CB. Was very heavy on CB as his outing went on.

Eli Griffith (2026 OF, Milledgeville, GA) showed a really good inside-out swing for a base hit through the 6 hole into LF. Appears to live the opposite side of the field at the plate.

Hudson Smith (2027 SS, Madison, AL) found a hard-barreled ball to left center field fence for a triple. Showed good bat speed and controlled it well through the zone.

Justin San Miguel (2026 SS, Ocean Springs, MS) showed a very quiet approach at the plate. Slow and short drive and explodes barrel through the zone. Ripped a hard-hit ball into right center for a base hit. Showed good and effortless speed on the bases, stealing second with ease. Created a run for the green team by his aggressiveness on the bases.

Ethan Gilchrist (2027 SS, Raleigh, NC) a good arm for his age. ¾ slot showing some late run on FB. Sat 75-78.  Topped at 80 a few times. Is not afraid to go inside and break the hands. Curveball ~62-63 MPH ~1900 RPM. CB showing 11/5 break. Very quick arm speed on all pitches. Already a dominant pitcher for his age but will be a dominant pitcher down the road when he matures and develops more
