Batting Practice Highlights

Vince Davis (2023 RHP, Somerdale, NJ) impressed throughout his round, as the uncommitted 2023 Grad sprayed numerous line drives all over the field and showed power potential by leaving the yard. Davis uses his lower half extremely well, creating tons of whip to his barrel and has strength in his hands to deliver the barrel with authority. 

Michael Fattore (2023 3B, Bridgewater, NJ) was consistent throughout his round, peppering each gap with numerous line drives and showing off projectable long-term power. The hulking corner infielder incorporates a long, loose path with good hip torque and strength in his hands. 

Hunter Del Guercio (2023 1B, Millstone, NJ) had himself a loud round of BP, as the strong, compactly built first baseman left the yard three times. Del Guercio starts from a slightly closed and coiled stance, before unwinding with his strong lower half to produce tons of present bat speed. He stays short and direct to the baseball, has strength in his hands and delivers the barrel with authority. 

Joseph Ciancimino (2022 3B, Staten Island, NY) showed off a well-rounded hit tool throughout his round, as he created loud impact from gap-to-gap and flashed projectable power. The Radford University commit incorporates a long, loose swing path with quick twitch movements and plenty of present bat speed to stay through the hitting zone for a long time. 

Nicholas Terefenko (2022 3B, Freehold, NJ) displayed the propensity to find the barrel often throughout his round, as the 6-foot-4, 200-pound first baseman delivered numerous line drives and flashed some power potential. He incorporates a good weight shift into contact with quick hands and creates loads of leverage out in front. 

Jon Young (2024 SS, Cherry Hill, NJ) is a projectable young hitter with advanced bat-to-ball skills and some juice to the pullside. The smooth left-handed hitting infielder incorporates a slightly lofted stroke with a good hip turn and lightning quick hands to deliver the barrel with authority. Displayed some long-term power projection, leaving the yard during his round. 

Reece Moroney (2023 SS, Fair Haven, NJ) continued to impress, as the athletic middle-infielder delivered one of the better rounds of BP. The uncommitted 2023 Grad uses a simple stroke with advanced bat-to-ball skills, an innate handle of the barrel and lightning quick hands to scorch lined drives to all fields. He capped it off by flashing some power, as he launched a homer to right center field to finish his round. 

Jack Balcer (2023 OF, Wayne, PA) used his a simple middle-of-the field approach, strong hands and good barrel skills to deliver a consistent round of BP. The athletically built primary outfielder incorporates a flatter swing plane to stay short and direct to the baseball, exhibits plenty of present bat speed and impacts the baseball with authority. 

Sean (John) McAdams (2022 SS, Southport, CT) showed clear intent and a simple, repeatable line drive swing path throughout his round. The uncommitted 2022 Grad implores good usage of his lower half to turn the barrel and strength in hands to deliver the barrel with authority. He uses the entire field effectively, as he scorched line drives from gap-to-gap. 

Erick Diaz (2024 OF, Middletown, NY) showed off impressive switch-hitting ability, as he produced several well-struck line drives and power potential from both sides. From the left-side, he incorporates more a gap-to-gap approach with compact bat speed to spray line drives that carried the alleys. From the right-side, he uses a slightly lofted stroke with good hip rotation and more power from this side. Overall, it is a true switch-hitting profile with tons of present components that project well long-term. 

Gavin Schrader (2022 OF, Batavia, NY) had the loudest round of the day, as the left-handed hitting primary outfielder left the yard four times during his round. He implores a loose, leveraged stroke with good usage of his lower half and strong hands to impact the baseball out in front. 

Will Baumann (2022 1B, Albany, NY) was not to be out done by Schrader, as the hulking first baseman went deep three times during his round. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound 2022 Grad has loose wrists and delivers the barrel to the front with strength and precision. 


6-White v. 1-Black Game Highlights

Reece Moroney (2023 SS, Fair Haven, NJ) stayed hot in his second game of the day, while flashing intriguing two-way capabilities and arm strength. He doubled in his only at-bat and ran his fastball up to 86 mph out of the 'pen. The athletically built primary infielder pounded the strike zone from a loose three-quarters arm slot and showed the ability to land a quality breaking ball for strikes. The uncommitted 2023 has been quite impressive through the entirety of today, flashing tons of potential in multiple facets of the game. 

Charlie Tallman (2023 SS, Fair Haven, NJ) continued to swing a hot bat, launching a No-Doubt homer to dead center in this one. The quick twitch, ball of energy is a consummate leader on the field, displays high-level defensive acumen and has tons of upside at the plate. The uncommitted 2023 Grad showcases advanced fundamentals and is seemingly always in the right spot. 

Joseph Sclama (2023 LHP, Manchester, NJ) delivered three scoreless innings for the black team, as the young left-hander pounded the strike zone with his two-pitch mix and generated tons of weak contact. He works from a lower three-quarters arm slot, creating heavy arm-side life to his fastball that sat in the mid-70s for the duration of his outing. He mixed in a sweeping breaking ball that varied in shape and has tons of horizontal action to it. The Manchester, NJ native also launched a double to left centerfield in his only at-bat and continued to display power potential in his smooth left-handed swing. 

Noah Stennett (2022 OF, West Orange, NJ) continued to find the barrel in this one, as the uncommitted 2022 Grad scorched a double in his only plate appearance. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound outfielder attacks the baseball with aggressive intent and flashes present bat speed. 

2-Columbia Blue v. 6-White Game Highlights

Michael Villani (2023 2B, Old Bridge, NJ) showcased a propensity to find the barrel often in this one, as the left-handed hitting infielder delivered two well-struck line drives in his three plate appearances. He displayed a simple, repeatable swing with good feel for the barrel and some compact bat speed. 

Erick Diaz (2024 OF, Middletown, NY) continued to stay hot in this one, as he collected two more hits and drove in two. The aforementioned switch-hitter did it from the other side this time, as he scorched a line drive double to right centerfield from the right-side. 

Michael Whooley (2023 SS, Wyckoff, NJ) stayed by collecting his second double of the day in this one. The strongly built infielder has immensely strong hands, while staying short and direct to the baseball. He engages his lower well into contact and whips the barrel through the hitting zone. 

Gavin Schrader (2022 OF, Batavia, NY) displayed intriguing arm talent in his quick one inning appearance, as he ran his fastball up to 87 mph from the left side. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound 2022 Grad worked exclusively from the stretch in this one, generating good hip torque and explosive life to his fastball. He mixed in a firm slider at 76 mph that flashes future swing-and-miss potential, as he continues to refine his arsenal. 

Reece Moroney (2023 SS, Fair Haven, NJ) impressed on both sides of the ball in this one, as the slick fielding middle-infielder made numerous tough plays in the dirt and collected three hits including a double. The 2023 Grad incorporates simple movements into contact and has lightning quick hands. 

Tyler Yoo (2025 C, Englewood Cliffs, NJ) showed off an intriguing two-way profile in this one, as he worked two scoreless innings on the mound and scorched a loud double to left centerfield. He ran his fastball up to 75 mph from a short, compact arm action and struck out two along the way. 


1-Black v. 2-Columbia Blue Game Highlights

JT Meyer (2024 RHP, Old Bridge, NJ) was extremely effective throughout his three innings of work in this one, as the young right-hander allowed just one hit and struck out five. The long-levered, high-waisted 2024 Grad ran his fastball up to 83 mph early on, settling in the low-80s for the duration of his outing. He incorporates a simple, repeatable delivery with good lower half movements down the slope and some short arm-side life through the zone. He mixed in a sharp 11-5 shaped breaking ball that flashed downer action when thrown with conviction and out in front. 

Sam Aguilar (2023 MIF, Little Ferry, NJ) showed off intriguing power potential, launching a loud double to deep centerfield in his second at-bat. The long, lean middle-infielder uses a loose, leveraged stroke to impact the baseball with authority. 

Raffaele Rogers (2023 SS, Haddonfield, NJ) continued to impress after a solid defensive workout and batting practice session, as the 2023 Grad delivered a loud RBI double to left field in this one. The slick fielding shortstop implores a simple operation with quickness to his hands and the ability to deliver the barrel on-time. 

Noah Stennett (2022 OF, West Orange, NJ) had himself a day in this one, going 2-3 including a scorched, line drive homerun to dean center and drive in two runs. The long, lanky primary outfielder stays short to the baseball and uses the strength in hands to get the barrel through the hitting zone quickly. 

Charlie Tallman (2023 SS, Fair Haven, NJ) is a high energy primary shortstop with quick-twitch athleticism, advanced defensive actions in the dirt and a high baseball IQ. The swings play too, as the 2023 Grad collected two hits in this one including a well-struck double to right centerfield. 

Brady Karol (2024 RHP, Garden City, NY) started the day off hot, collecting two hits in this one. The strong, durable frame 2024 Grad creates good leverage out in front and packs a punch with barrel when he stays connected. He implores a fairly simple swing pattern with looseness to his hands and whip to his barrel. 

Bryceton Berry (2023 SS, Attica, NY) collected two hits in this one, as the 2023 shortstop stays simple with his movements and delivers the barrel with authority. 

Joey Zito (2023 LHP, Dover, PA) was impressive in his two innings of work, as the big-bodied left-hander ran his fastball up to 86 mph with exploding life through the zone. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Zito worked exclusively from the stretch and incorporates good lower half movements down the slope. He repeats well from his high three-quarters slot and generated a ton of swings-and-misses with his fastball. He mixed in a sharp, late biting curveball at 67 mph, flashing both horizontal and vertical tilt to its action. 

Erick Diaz (2024 OF, Middletown, NY) showed good barrel control in driving a standup triple in this one. The switch-hitting outfielder has a patient approach and stays through the hitting a long time with his barrel. 

Will Baumann (2022 1B, Albany, NY) continued show an impressive hit tool, scorching two well-struck line drives in this one. 5 Purple vs 3 Green Game Highlights

Alexander D'Ambrosio (2023 SS/RHP Marlboro, NJ) was dealing on the mound early, picking up 2 K’s in 2 IP while topping 85 mph on a heavy FB. He successfully changed the eye level of hitters and flashed an 11-5 curve with solid horizontal shape. As a secondary 2023 RHP, D’Ambrosio has tons of dangerous tools to develop as he continues to grow.

Rhys Bowie (2024 LHP, Haworth, NJ) also showcased his stuff on the bump, running his FB up to 82 mph and striking out 4 through 3 IP. Bowie had fantastic command of his plus tight 12-6 curve which he threw in any count and proved early that he could drop it backdoor for a strike as well, further adding to his overall threat.

Nicolas LoBello (2022 OF, New York, NY) put on a swing clinic at the plate, consistently roping line drives to the opposite field with a super fast and simple approach. LoBello doesn’t try to do too much offensively and lets his natural ability takeover to win most matchups. 

Xavier Cortez (2023 SS, Vineland, NJ) once again finds himself in the postgame blog, this time for his work as a pitcher. Cortez ran his FB up to 86 mph and struck out 2 of the 3 opponents he faced on the day with a devastating 11-5 breaker with late movement and a fading changeup to complement the heat.


4 Orange vs 5 Purple Game Highlights

8/21/2021

Matt Kalfas (2023 LHP, Merrick, NY) showed his all around athleticism on both sides of the field, working off the bump touching 82 mph from the left side and roping a double into the pull side gap offensively. Kalfas has high baseball IQ and has sound mechanics regardless of the position he’s in.

Jack Reichlin (2024 C, Exton, PA) was a force for his side, driving a double to the LF fence to add onto his .500 day. He displayed quick compact hands inside the baseball with a solid launch angle that successfully created backspin and carry. Reichlin was also an asset behind the dish with a fast trigger that held runners at bay. 

Myles Seid (2023 C, Livingston, NJ) was a perfect 2-2 on the game, showcasing serious pull side juice into the LCF gap to pick up a double on the stat sheet. He consistently worked disciplined AB’s at the dish and jumped on his pitch with solid lower half rotation. 

Johnny Ortegae (2025 3B, Boothwyn, PA) looked good on the bump, touching 81 mph from a projectable low 3/4 slot while flashing a late breaking 11-5 slurve that kept hitters guessing. The 2025 arm successfully worked both sides of the plate and commanded both pitches in his arsenal well.

Vince Davis (2023 RHP, Somerdale, NJ) showcased a heavy FB on the mound, running the gun up to 84 mph from a full live arm action. Davis effectively mixed a 11-5 curve with both vertical and horizontal plane, ultimately striking out 4 in 2 innings of work.

Jordan Oliver (2022 RHP, Lancaster, PA) registered straight fuel on the gun, touching 90 mph while holding high 80's well through his 3 innings of work, striking out 6 in the process. He used his lower half to create great push off downhill and commanded the inner half of the plate. 

Joseph Ciancimino (2022 3B, Staten Island, NY) executed his two pitch mix effectively in his 2 innings of work, showcasing an 88 mph FB with arm side run complemented by a sharp 11-5 slurve that kept hitters off balance. He attacked hitters aggressively and let his defense work behind him.
