Navy vs. Purple Game Highlights

3/28/2021

Rhett Murphy (2025 RHP, Madison, MS) got the scoring started for Navy in the first inning with a line drive single back up the middle to plate the first run of the game.

Evan Damario (2025 C, Lees Summit, MO) jumped on the mound and got the start, showing a quick arm to top out at 77 mph which got some swing and misses within the zone with big shape on his curveball up to 60 mph.

Brody Woodall (2025 OF, Bartlett, TN) went with an outer half fastball in his first at-bat to pick up a single to the opposite field and promptly stole second base on the next pitch.

Griffin Kelly (2025 1B, Buffalo Grove, IL) had a quick, clean inning for the Navy team as he was up to 72 mph with his fastball and filled up the strike zone, punching out all three batters he faced. He also went to the opposite field with an inside-out single in his first at-bat of the game.

Gray Eubanks (2025 3B, Huntingdon, TN) pumped the strike zone with his fastball, working on top of the ball from a higher release point while topping out at 78 mph and mixing in a 12-6 shaped curveball. He also put one of the more impressive swings on the ball as he went backside for a standup double to the left-center field gap.

Jimmy Downs (2025 3B, Midlothian, IL) snuck a double inside the left field line just over the third base bag and hustled out of the box, thinking extra bases right away.

Leo Humbert (2025 OF, Saint Charles, MO)  is a strongly built left-hander who came out filling the strike zone, topping out at 79 mph with his fastball while picking up a couple of strike outs and spinning his curveball with some conviction up to 67 mph.

Cannon Goldin (2025 OF, Buford, GA) found another barrel and picked up a base knock in his final trip to the plate, turning around a fastball for a line drive single into right field.

Orange vs. White Game Highlights

3/28/2021

Ethan Rathmann (2026 OF, Windermere, FL) got an elevated fastball he could handle up in the zone and turned it around for a line drive single over the head of the third baseman.

Dalton Zultanski (2026 SS, Osceola, IN) followed up with a well place double just behind the second baseman, hustling out of the box, to plate the first run of the game for the White club.

Benjamin Trey Gudoy (2025 OF, Escondido, CA) showed off some two-way ability as he picked up a single the opposite way in his first at-bat of the game before lining another single back up the middle. He jumped on the mound and topped out at 76 mph with a complete arsenal and plenty of strikes.

Aidan Creasbaum (2026 SS, Cedar Lake, IN) managed to put the Orange club on top with a single to left field as he jumped on a hanging breaking ball and spun on it to left field.

Trey Jozwiakowski (2025 3B, Fenton, MO) jumped on the mound for the White team and topped out at 81 mph with his fastball, creating some angle while showing heavy life in the zone and mixing a breaking ball up to 71 mph.

Brett Bounds (2025 3B, Morris, IL) got just enough on barrel on the ball to send a single out to center field, plating another run for White in the final inning of the game.

Purple vs. White Highlights

3/27/2021

Brycen McDonald (2025 RHP, Hohenwald, TN) topped out at 81 mph with his fastball, working the ball downhill nicely while spinning a breaking ball for strikes in the 61-64 mph range.

Nicholas Hulen (2025 RHP, Cicero, IN) is listed as a primary right-handed pitcher but he picked up a single to the middle of the field with two strikes on him, getting enough barrel on a cut fastball to fall in for a knock.

Gray Eubanks (2025 3B, Huntingdon, TN) showed well at the hot corner on defense, exhibiting soft hands and sound fundamentals, as well as a strong arm and plenty of carry on his throws across the diamond. He later picked up a single to the opposite field and proceeded to steal second and third.

Brock Archie (2025 C, Paris, TN) jumped all over a breaking ball in his first at-bat, sending the pitch to the left of the second base bag for a well struck line drive single.

Mason Schirmer (2025 1B, Festus, MO) got a pitch he could handle up in the zone and turned it around with some authority, driving the ball to the right-center field gap for a standup double. Later in the game he made a fully extended diving catch coming in on a ball in left field.

Ethan Rathmann (2026 OF, Windermere, FL) pulled a double down the left field line driving in a run showing the ability to pull the hands in and get the barrel to the baseball.

Leo Humbert (2025 OF, Saint Charles, MO) and Jimmy Downs (2025 3B, Midlothian, IL) both connected for a loud contact with well struck singles as Humbert went back up the middle late in the game for Purple while Downs turned on a ball over the shortstop's head.

Cooper Nebben (2026 RHP, Clarksville, TN) made one of the better defensive plays of the day at shortstop on a roller up the middle in which he slid, spun and threw a one hopper from a knee which the first baseman picked to complete the play.

Batting Practice Highlights

3/27/2021

Collen Dean (2025 OF, Tulsa, OK) showed good strength at the point of contact with a short bat path producing good hand speed. The barrel consistently played out front impacting the baseball middle to pull side.

Cannon Goldin (2025 OF, Buford, GA) a South Carolina commit found the barrel routinely in his round with a short compact bat path producing well impacted line drives. His smooth bat path projects well as he continues to mature.

Benjamin Trey Gudoy (2025 OF, Escondido, CA) showed some quick twitch to his left-handed stroke. He has looseness in the wrist allowing the bat head to get out front as he showed the ability to drive the baseball to all fields.

Bishop Holton (2025 OF, Amory, MS) displayed the ability to create some leverage at the point of contact. He works on a direct line to the ball and creates carry and back spin when he gets extension at the point of contact.

CJ Lattimore (2025 OF, Clarksville, TN)has good rhythm and timing to his left-handed stoke. The ability to stay on time allows the barrel to clear while staying connected to the lower half driving the ball to the pull side.

Jimmy Downs (2025 3B, Midlothian, IL) does a nice job creating separation pre-swing and getting into his lower half hitting from a wider base. He showed the ability to create leverage at the point of contact when he gets the barrel head out front.

Gray Eubanks (2025 3B, Huntingdon, TN) showed some impressive bat speed in his round with loud barrels to the pull side. He does a nice job getting into his legs and producing power from the ground up.

Lannon Nicoloff (2026 SS, Lafayette, IN) showcased a good feel for the barrel from the left side with a smoother bat path. He produces some jump off the barrel as he does a nice job staying connected and driving off the back side.

Evan Damario (2025 C, Lees Summit, MO) displayed good intent in his swing with some loft to the bat path creating carry on the ball flight. He gets the lower half through with quick hips allowing the bat head to get out front impacting the ball to the pull side.

Peyton Goolsby (2025 C, Arlington, TN) does a nice job getting the bat head turned over and impacting the baseball to the pull side. The bat speed helps to create some of the jump off the barrel as he sits into the back side.

Navy vs. Orange Game Highlights

3/27/2021

Robert Brown III (2025 RHP, North Andover, MA) was impressive on the mound for the Navy team, running his fastball up to 81 mph in the first inning with short sink and projects for more in the future. He flashed a breaker in the upper-60s and showed tight spin to it with an overall feel that’ll continue to develop.

Andrew Anderson (2025 LHP, Saint Peters, MO) made for an uncomfortable at-bat as the young left-hander worked up to 76 mph with his fastball early, creating some short life down in the zone with angle out of the hand. He struck out 6 in his 3 innings of work and mixed in both a changeup and curveball throughout.

Bishop Holton (2025 OF, Amory, MS) pulled his hands in on an inner half fastball and roped the ball down the line for a standup triple in his first at-bat of the game for Orange.

Cannon Goldin (2025 OF, Buford, GA) impressed throughout the first day of the showcase and continued to show quick hands in the plate, picking up a hard ground ball single that he put back up the middle.

Rhett Murphy (2025 RHP, Madison, MS) filled up the zone throughout his time on the mound, running his fastball up to 76 mph while living down with short life. He mixed in a changeup for strikes as well with a similar release point.

Evan Damario (2025 C, Lees Summit, MO) had a nice game on both sides of the ball, throwing out a runner behind the plate while also making a nice play at third base, coming in on the charge while throwing across his body accurately. He also has bat speed and strength in his hands, picking up a single back up the middle in his second at-bat.

Dominic Clements (2026 3B, Walls, MS) impressed with his arm strength when he jumped onto the mound, missing plenty of bats while running his fastball up to 85 mph and mixing in a 70 mph breaker with sharp life when he worked on top of the ball.

Johnny Ortegae (2025 3B, Boothwyn, PA) was able to create some big sinking life to his fastball which was up to 79 mph and got in on the hands of right-handed batters.
