Game Highlights

3/14/2021

Cedaris Smith (2025 SS, Gainesville, FL) took good swings all weekend and may have had the hardest single impact of anyone when he shot a rocket triple up the left centerfield gap.  He really turned on the ball aggressively with very good bat speed.

Jon David Terrell (2025 RHP, Clanton, AL) also turned on a ball hard, driving a double up the same gap of his own.  Terrell is a primary pitcher but has plenty of strength in his bat as well.

Tyler Hester (2025 C, Madison, MS) kept his hands inside very well on a pitch and lined it to right centerfield, where it got on the turf and scooted all the way to the wall, enabling the young catcher to circle the bases for an inside the part home run.

John Phillip (JP) Abt (2025 SS, Brandon, MS) showed his two-way tools all day Sunday.  He led off the top of the first inning of the first game with a rocket triple into the left field corner and later added a single up the middle.  On the mound, Abt showed a loose and easy arm action with a fastball up to 77 mph to go with a nice slider he threw for strikes.

Levi Kelly (2025 3B, Tallapoosa, GA) showed his arm strength very well on the mound, working in the 76-78 mph range and getting outstanding sinking action on the pitch at times.

Bishop McKinney (2025 SS, Georgetown, KY) made the defensive play of the day with a sliding stab of a ground ball in the hole from shortstop and strong throw across to get a runner.  He also picked up two hits on the day, including a double into right centerfield.

Batting Practice Highlights

3/13/2021

Tyler Johnson (2025 C, Wetumpka, AL) showed some of the best bat speed and strength at the plate of anyone. His right-handed swing shows good intent looking to hit the ball hard on a line each time he takes a cut.

Cedaris Smith (2025 SS, Gainesville, FL) works short to the ball with a direct bat path. He produced the best jump using the middle of the field with extension through contact.

Jon David Terrell (2025 RHP, Clanton, AL) has good barrel accuracy in his swing as he matches plane well coming through the hitting zone. he wore out the right-center field gap in his round and will produce even more power with more extension though contact.

Alexander Pinson (2025 SS, Charlotte, TN) times up his toe tap trigger well and does a nice job getting to a strong base to hit from. he showed some bat speed with hard hit line drives through out his round.

CJ Clayton (2025 C, Hummelstown, PA) showed his ability to use the whole field with the barrel tracking to the inside part of the baseball. The strength in his hands creates some of the jump off the barrel with a line drive approach.

John Phillip (JP) Abt (2025 SS, Brandon, MS)swing with good timing and intent from the right side. He used the middle of the field finding the barrel consistently with hands speed to get the barrel head out front.

Caleb Heis (2025 RHP, Cullman, AL) has a longer swing path with good hand speed allowing the barrel to get out front and impact the baseball on a line as he tracks level through the hitting zone. His levleba path allows him to spray the ball to all fields.

Cadyn Williamson (2025 LHP, Sumrall, MS) showed some things to like from both sides of the plate. On the left side the swing path is smooth with some loft getting the ball in the air and producing more pop at present.

Bryce Morrison (2026 C, Moreno Valley, CA) was another switch hitter with compotes to like from both sides. Morrison has loose wrist on both side and really lets the hands work to the baseball and flick line drives to all fields.

Brooks Heatherly (2025 SS, Vinemont, AL) has an accurate barrel with a short compacted left-handed swing. His swing projects well and will continue to add thump and carry as he matures and creates more extension through contact.

Game Highlights

3/13/2021

Cedaris Smith (2025 SS, Gainesville, FL) has a nice combination of strength and speed that comes into play both offensively and defensively.  He didn't have any hits on the day but made hard contact consistently and showed smooth actions on the left side of the infield.

Jon David Terrell (2025 RHP, Clanton, AL) has a nice flowing delivery on the mound that he repeated well for three strong innings.  He was very consistent in the 73-76 mph range and got nice sink down in the strike zone while striking out five hitters.

Alexander Pinson (2025 SS, Charlotte, TN) is an athletic two-way prospect.  He has a pull oriented right-handed swing with some jump off the barrel at the plate.  On the mound, Pinson was up to 78 mjph and landed his curveball for strikes well.

Brooks Heatherly (2025 SS, Vinemont, AL) has a nice left-handed swing and consistently put the barrel on the ball, collecting three base hits in four trips to the plate.

Bryce Morrison (2026 C, Moreno Valley, CA) is a primary catcher with some switch-hitting ability but we liked the way his arm worked on the mound.  He was very low effort with a quick arm from a lower slot and topped out at 75 mph and filled up the strike zone.

Cadyn Williamson (2025 LHP, Sumrall, MS) was one of the best athletes at the Hoover Met Complex today and looked good on the mound as well.  The left-hander worked in the 69-72 mph range and got tons of late life on his fastball while retiring nine straight hitters, four by strike out.

Jordan McCormick (2025 C, Huntsville, TX) had the offensive highlight of the day, driving a ball hard up the right centerfield gap that rolled to the 375' sign, enabling him to leg out an inside the park home run.  He picked a single to centerfield in his next at-bat as well.

Levi Kelly (2025 3B, Tallapoosa, GA) also showed his power.  The strong looking right-handed hitter crushed a double that easily got over the left fielder's head.
