John Phillip (JP) Abt is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Brandon, MS who attends Hartfield Academy. Compact, wiry build with some size and athletic traits. Ran a 7.32 in the sixty. Primary infielder, good grab on backhand and smooth transfer. Quick hands and soft feet, good mover either way. Comfortable changing slots on the move. Can get on the bump and be an impact arm too. Right-handed hitter, wider base with high hand set and high back elbow. Quick hands produce bat speed. Gets on plane from direct path, worked both gaps and a strong set of hands. Can stay inside out and work the opposite field gap, good athlete and can really handle the barrel. Verbal commitment to Jacksonville State. Named to Top Prospect list.
