11-Red vs 12-Royal Game Highlights

Garrett Ferguson (2022 RHP, Blue Springs, MO) Worked to all four quadrants of the zone inducing weak contact up to 84 mph. Created tight spin with slider offering producing late tilt to glove side in the mid 70's. Impressed at the plate as well showing present bat speed to contact. Aggressively turned the barrel to contact and generated sharp contact to pull side.

Will Bacich (2023 3B, St. Louis, MO) The 2023 grad displayed good strength at contact with the ability to drive the baseball through the gaps with ease. Consistently created loud contact and generated tight backspin off the barrel when squared.

Jake Koenig (2021 2B, St Louis, MO) Displayed a balanced approach at the plate with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Showed good feel for the barrel with the ability to control the bat head through the hitting zone.

Brennyn Abendroth (2021 RHP, Terre Haute, IN) Created good arm speed through extension with a heavy fastball that jumped on hitters in the upper 80's to low 90's, topped at 91 mph. Consistently looked to attack hitters and induced weak contact throughout each inning of work.

Markell Dixon (2021 OF, Chesterfield, MO) The 2021 grad showed a live arm while on the mound generating good downhill tilt with a fastball that topped at 88 mph. Also flashed tight, late depth with a 10/5 breaking ball.

Alec Bulak (2021 RHP, Spring Valley, IL) Showed good command and feel with fastball topping at 86 mph. Also flashed good depth with a 11/5 curveball in the mid 70's.

Tyler Gilmer (2021 RHP, Sikeston, MO) Generated good downhill tilt through the zone with a fastball that topped at 84 mph. Consistently lands slider offering for strikes in the low 70's and flashed developing feel for a changeup.

Daniel White (2023 RHP, Springfield, MO) Released from a three-quarters arm slot producing natural cut to glove side in the low 80's, topped at 84 mph. Breaking ball flashed 11/5 shape with solid depth when maintaining arm speed through extension.

Ethan Bourg (2022 SS, Magnolia, TX) The Texas native showed good feel for the barrel throughout the zone with the ability to hit the ball with intent to all fields.

Tristan Wheelus (2021 C, Russellville, AR) Utilized a mature approach at the plate with a naturally leveraged barrel plane through extension. Showed present strength at contact and generated loud contact off the barrel when squared.

Liam Martin (2022 SS, Eagan, MN) Displayed quick, clean hands through the hitting zone with a linear path. Showed a knack for finding the barrel and flashed tight back spin off the barrel when squared. Also impressed on the mound featuring a fastball that generated occasional run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 mph.

David Broughton (2023 SS, Fenton, MO) Utilized a compact, direct path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Displayed good control of the bat head and collected two hits in game action.

Brandon Canny (2020 OF, Des Moines, IA) Brandon utilized a balanced approach at the plate and showed good feel for the barrel. Consistently threw barrel head to contact and worked to all fields.

Connor Canny (2021 OF, Johnston, IA) Like his cousin Brandon, Connor also showed a balanced swing with good feel for the barrel. The Iowa native also flashed the ability to turn the barrel with intent and generate sharp contact to the middle of the field.

Kevin Krill (2021 C, White Lake, MI) The Michigan native showed present bat speed through the zone with strength at contact. Aggressively attack the baseball with intent and consistently generated loud, hard contact.

Wil Libbert (2023 LHP, Meta, MO) Libbert impressed at the plate today showing a simple, repeatable line drive barrel plane while collecting two hits.

Jeremy Rader (2021 3B, Springfield, MO) The 2021 grad showed a clean hand path to contact with a linear plane through extension. Rader primarily looked to drive the ball to the middle of the field collecting two base hits.

Brad Beier (2021 RHP, Pevely, MO) Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating occasional run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 mph. Consistently looked to get ahead of hitter early in counts and utilized his breaking ball and changeup to keep hitters off balance.


Batting Practice Highlights

2/23/2020

Levi Allison (2021 C, Frisco, TX) flashed some excellent power potential in batting practice Sunday, showcasing good balance through extension and the ability to impact the ball with consistency. The junior from Texas swings with intent to drive the baseball.

Evan Appelwick (2021 SS, Madison, SD) showed impressive bat speed and put together an excellent round on Sunday. The Indiana commit showcases easy jump off the barrel with a direct path to contact and consistent, line-drive contact. 

Troy Johnson (2021 SS, Corpus Christi, TX) put together an incredibly loud and consistent round on Sunday, driving balls the pull-side gap with incredible consistency. Johnson has a simple and repeatable operation at the plate that allows for hard contact with each swing.

Sean Kang (2023 C, Chesterfield, MO) uses a slightly lifted barrel plane to drive the ball in the air with some easy jump off the bat. Kang has relaxed hands, firing his hips well while executing a pull-side approach. 

Jobe Smith (2023 SS, Park Hills, MO) flashed some serious bat speed in batting practice Sunday, staying short to the ball and driving it to all fields. Smith is strong at the point of contact and gets extended while staying nice and balanced through finish. 

Avery Grant (2021 OF, Springfield, MO) was another bat to show some serious power potential on Sunday. The junior has a simple operation he repeats well and flashes some good jump to the pull-side. 

Jack Matousek (2021 OF, Saint Louis, MO) showcased a middle of the field approach on Sunday, and his smooth left-handed stroke was easy and repeatable. The Saint Louis native flashes some thump off the barrel and showed good feel for the barrel throughout his round. 

Reagan Andrew (2022, SS, Chesterfield, MO) has a simple approach from the right-side, using a linear barrel plane to create plenty of hard, line-driven contact through the middle of the field. Andrew has some strength in the frame and can execute a high-contact approach.

Zane Roos (2022 OF, St Louis, MO) put together a solid showing, showcasing a direct path to contact and some good barrel control. Just a sophomore, Roos swings with intent to drive the baseball and projects for more power as the frame continues to mature. 

Kevin Krill (2021 C, White Lake, MI) makes consistent, hard contact through the middle of the field. Krill has a slightly lifted barrel plane, putting together a solid round that featured some hard-hit ball to the middle of the field. 

Jonathan Tate (2021 1B, Benton, IL) showed some good jump off the barrel to the pull-side, using a strong frame to generate some barrel whip through the zone. Tate looks to lift to the pull-side and flashes big power when on time and squared. 

Markell Dixon (2021 OF, Chesterfield, MO) put together a very loud round of batting practice Sunday, driving the ball through the middle of the field with consistency. Dixon swings with intent to drive the baseball and repeats the entire operation with ease. 

Jack Huston (2021 OF, Marshall, MO) showed some good barrel whip through the zone, impacting the ball with ease and flashing developing feel for the barrel as well. Huston has quick hands to contact and executes a middle of the field to pull-side approach. 

Andrew Loeffelman (2021 C, Saint Louis, MO) has a tall and even stance, showcasing some strength at contact and generating plenty of jump off the barrel when squared. Loeffelman has some raw power at the plate and will improve as he continues to add strength.

Landon Geragosian (2022 RHP, Aviston, IL) Utilized lower half well while creating online direction to the plate. Released from a three-quarters slot generating occasional running action in the low 80's, topped at 82 mph. Consistently located to each edge off the plate and induced weak contact.

Cole Koonce (2021 RHP, Eureka, MO) Displayed a quick arm with good whip through extension. Fastball jumped out of hand well generating heavy life through the zone in the upper 80's, topped at 89 mph. Flashed good depth with breaking ball when staying on top of offering at release.

Reese Ellison (2024 LHP, Bartlett, TN) Impressed at the plate in game action showing a smooth, repeatable swing path. Showed good feel for the barrel and consistently barreled the ball in each at bat.
