Jake LaPorte is a 2024 RHP/UT with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Pittsburgh, PA who attends Keystone Oaks. Features a longer, athletic, projectable frame with room to add. Four-pitch mix that includes fastball, curveball, slider and changeup. Has a waist high leg kick with a full hip turn into a drop and drive, downhill delivery. The operation stays balanced and is repeatable. He has long arm action and throws out of a high three-quarter slot. Knuckle curve can deceive when he gets on top of the pitch. Stays around the zone with all four offerings while working quickly. In the infield, he showed the ability to move laterally with ease. Showcased proper footwork and glove mechanics and the ability to funnel. Works through the ball with a quick transfer and solid, accurate arm across the diamond. Has an even base at the plate with a high back elbow and a toe tap trigger. Showed torque in the hips to generate pull side pop while consistently staying on the barrel. Projects more juice in the future. Ran a 7.62 sixty-yard dash.
