2024 California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Riley Falt is a 2027 1B/RHP, OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Anaheim, CA who attends Anaheim. Medium frame. Moderate kick, big negative shift as he lifts. Tries to gain it back by driving hard downhill. Fastball shows frequent cutting action. Competitive in the zone with it. Curveball has downer action and is executed frequently. Located both pitches well. Changeup is more of a project, subtle fade to it. Has some makings just needs to firm up the arsenal and clean up the delivery. Has feel for repeating the delivery. Curveball is actually pretty good with sharp depth to it. In the outfield, he takes quick choppy steps in approach to the fielding point. Glove could use a bit of polish but shows feel for the routine. Max effort rotational throws with moderate strength. In the infield, the feet work direct to the fielding point with hands that work out front. Lateral actions fit a corner. Similar throwing motion and strength from this spot. Right-handed hitter, wide base and low back elbow. Initial move is a toe tap trigger. Minimal hand load with sudden launch. Approach is line drive oriented through the gaps. Got it on the barrel a bunch and turned and launched one late in the round. Good Student.
