Grayson DeBerry is a 2027 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Butler. Very athletic young build with good present strength and plenty of physical projection. 7.55 runner in the sixty. Primary middle infielder on defense, works low behind the ball and has athletic footwork, throws comfortably from a lower slot with some carry on his throws, very balanced charging the ball, plays defense under control and confident. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread bent knee stance with a short stride into contact, stays well balanced and directional, has a short and direct swing and makes consistent square line drive contact, gap to gap approach and can carry the right center field gap at times, projects well as a hitter. Also pitched, has a high energy delivery that isn't consistent with the rest of his controlled game, has a quick and compact 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, elevated his fastball effectively and generally worked above barrels. Curveball was a solid second pitch with some sharpness and proper shape. Good overall athlete with some skills along with it, will continue to improve with repetitions and physical maturity. Named to the 13U/14U Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
