Archer Baughman is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 5-10 164 lb. frame from Philipsburg, PA who attends Philipsburg-Osceola Area. Medium frame with longer levers and room to add more strength as he continues to physically mature. Primary shortstop, demonstrates a clean prep step while showing the glove early. Displayed some lateral range to both sides. Glove can get stabby on the backhands. Released the baseball from a three-quarters slot. Delivered accurate throws and recorded arm strength up to 81 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery from the middle of the rubber with a leg lift up to the letters. Longer takeaway on the back-side before releasing from a low three-quarters slot. Finishes over his front-side and gets the back leg through smoothly. Fastball filled up all four quadrants of the strike zone, ultimately peaking at 81 mph with spin up to 2147 rpm. Breaking ball had 11-5 shape to it with some side-spin. Changeup showed some fade and tumble down in the zone, killing some spin. Projects for an uptick in velocity as he continues to add strength to his frame. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wider stance with a flat hand set-up. Utilizes a negative toe-tap trigger for timing. Gets the foot down on-time before working into a flat bat path. Has plenty of quickness in the hands but can get slashy at times. Produced line drives to the middle of the field with good strength at impact when timed up. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 mph. Ran a 7.39 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.
