Lucas Polec is a 2025 OF/LHP with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Catalina Foothills. Good athlete showed some promising pieces to build on including an advanced run tool, he posted the 14u event's best 60 yard dash with a 6.83. Primary outfielder, shows a grasp for fundamental actions and fine glove skill. Loose arm action has good whip, he stays on top of the release with carry to the bag. Has a quick arm with developing strength, gets vertical to throw missing the end-game some. Also pitched, the lengthy frame has upside with added control to his mechanics. The left-hander has a loose operation that has time time to feel for more repeatable actions. Throws from a high 3/4 slot, not a very consistent arm action yet. Narrow stride limits the lower half push and reach to the plate. Struggled to find the zone, fastball showed great life and downhill plane sitting 69-72 mph and he flashed a well developed 11-5 shaped breaking ball with some bite to it. Left-handed hitter, tall and staggered start with a young feel for the barrel. Hands stays inside and has an uphill path to contact. Soft impact for now, more to show as the athleticism and frame mature. Good student.
