Colby Evans is a 2022 RHP/1B, SS with a 6-1 192 lb. frame from Clovis, CA who attends Buchanan. Large frame with broad shoulders and strength in build. Ran a 7.04 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short side step delivery into a medium leg lift to the belt. Stays on line with delivery to the plate creating some drive from the backside. Has a longer arm action in the back and gets into an over the top release. Creates occasional plane on the fastball from slot topping out at 82 miles per hour. Will occasionally go to a short 11-to-5 curveball with average tightness to spin. Will work to contact well filling up the zone with strikes off the fastball. Worked out defensively as a secondary infielder. Sits back some at field with a funnel to the body. Full arm action through the back from an over the top slot. Creates some carry across the infield at 82 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a wide base to start and high hands and back elbow. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Short to the ball getting around it and working to the pull side. Incorporates strength in swing and generates some lift at contact. Excellent student as well.
