Austin Stephens is a 2026 1B/LHP with a 6-0 177 lb. frame from Saint Peters, MO who attends Francis Howell Central. Big and strong build for his age with long limbs and lots of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread crouch stance with a short strike into contact, gets out to his front side early, downhill slashing swing plane, will have the body and strength to develop a more power based approach in the future. 8.31 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has some idea on his footwork, tends to field the ball close to his body, developing arm strength. Also pitched, long arm action in back with a high and tight slot coming through, works exclusively from the stretch. Fastball worked in the upper 60's, also threw a soft curveball.
