James Petty is a 2027 RHP with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from York, SC who attends Legion Collegiate Academy. Lean young build. Primary right handed pitcher, works from a short side step delivery with a full in-line arm action and an over the top arm slot, has a short stride out front that often leaves his arm late coming through. Fastball registered in the mid-60's and topped out at 67 mph, mostly straight. Threw a breaking ball that toggled between curveball and slider shape with soft spin and short break, also developing a change up. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a pre-load to his back side, tends to stay back with a limited shift into contact, step by step swing that can develop more flow and direction, hits the ball to all fields.
