Kam Smith is a 2027 RHP/1B with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Girard, KS who attends Girard. Young athletic with good length and tons of physical projection. Works from a full delivery with a high leg raise over the rubber, small hesitation at the top to get in sync, clean arm circle in back coming to a tight 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, plenty of velocity projection as he matures physically. Slider was his best present pitch, had tight spin and good power with full arm speed, flashed big depth with two-plane shape at times. Killed the spin on his change up but was often too firm with it. Threw strikes and competed well. Pretty much defines projection in young pitcher. Father Dan spent parts of four years in the Big Leagues as a RHP. Excellent student. Named to the Kansas City Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
