Blake Maynard is a 2024 SS/2B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Greenwood Village, CO who attends Cherry Creek. Blake has a tall athletic frame and shows good athleticism in the field. With better movement to his left he projects as a good second baseman at the next level. His footwork and glove are fundamentally sound. The arm action works from a lower three-quarter slot with a quick release. Blake shows good contact ability at the plate with some strength to hit balls hard up the middle and gap to gap. Swing is a bit long and slower then would like, but when it times up shows some strength. Trying to loosen up his load position to be solid but loose will allow for quicker bat speed and therefore translate into some more consistent hard contact. Maynard had a speedy 60yd dash time of 7.09secs. to show he has quickness in his game as well. Blake has good potential to be a player at the next level, with continued development and some more strength he could blossom nicely. Blake is a very good student in the classroom.
