Drew Wright is a 2026 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-6 135 lb. frame from Blythe, CA who attends Palo Verde. Ran an 8.33 60-yard dash. Caught the ball consistently during outfield workouts. Still developing footwork to and through the catchpoint. More arm strength should come as the frame adds strength. Left-handed hitter. Utilizes a slightly open stance with a moderate hanging leg kick timing mechanism. Looks to drive the ball in the air using a slight uppercut path. Uses a pullside approach. Still developing consistent barrel accuracy. Left-handed pitcher. Utilizes tall and fall mechanics down the mound. Slight crossfire landing adds some deception. Creates a good angle at release using a short arm action into a low 3/4 slot. The fastball sat 65-69 mph with slight cut action. Throws for strikes often when mechanics are in-sync. The slider sat 60-63 mph with sweeping action. Flashed the ability to create some depth on the offering. Still developing the overall feel for the pitch. Very good student.
