Jose Antonio Hernandez is a 2026 SS/3B with a 5-3 105 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, NC who attends MLC School. Smaller, high waisted frame with plenty of time and room to physically mature. Recorded a 10.29 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with aggressive actions into the fielding process, fields slightly off his side and works through the baseball into a quick release. Developing lateral range that will continue to improve with additional physical maturity. Recorded arm strength up to 62 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a tight hand set, low balk elbow and leg lift trigger. Compact, line drive stroke with good separation into contact, some feel for the barrel and the ability to create some backspin on the baseball. Middle-of-the field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills and plenty of likable components that project as he adds strength. Projectable, young prospect with upside on both sides of the baseball. Excellent Student.
