2022 13U/14U Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Rauel Abreu is a 2027 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from East Elmhurst, NY who attends William Cullen Bryant. Long, lanky frame with a high waist and tons of physical projection remaining. Recorded a 7.37 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with smooth, athletic actions throughout the fielding process. Displayed good lateral range to both sides, a clean funnel out in-front and intriguing arm strength across the diamond up to 75 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, upright stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hanging leg lift trigger. Incorporates good separation and leverage into contact, flashed intriguing power to project on. Generates some carry and backspin when on-time, while showing some feel for the barrel and good hand-eye coordination. Immensely projectable frame with above average defensive acumen and upside offensively. Will continue to improve with additional strength and maturity. Named to 2022 13/14U Mid-Atlantic Prospect Top Prospect List.
