Sunday Game Highlights

5/28/2023

Mason Robertson (2027 LHP, Oak Creek, WI) had a loud start to the morning for Team Royal, as he drove a double into the right-center gap in the first inning. The left-handed hitter does a great job of creating separation and leverage, and he got the barrel through on time, making contact out in front of the plate. He would add a hard-hit line drive single up the middle later in the game. High-ceiling player with very intriguing two-way potential.

Nicholas Long (2027 OF, Springfield, MO) wasted no time in collecting a double of his own, as he smoked one down the left field line the very next inning. The right-handed hitter would get things started for Team Black on the swing, as he drove in the first run of the game. He picked up another solid base knock to left field later in the game. He has a strong and physical swing, and there is a good mix of hit and power present.

Malachi Foster (2027 SS, Hendersonville, TN) showed some real two-way potential in today's contest. On the mound, he displayed big arm strength/speed, running his fastball up to 78 mph. He paired it with a solid breaking ball, which showed real teeth and good depth. At the plate, he put the barrel on two, well-struck singles up the middle.

Cy Craft (2027 SS, Du Quoin, IL) capped off an impressive weekend with his performance on the mound in today's game. The right-hander worked 79-81 mph with a quick arm, filling up the zone and challenging hitters with every pitch. He has plenty of athleticism to his game, and his wiry 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame projects very well moving forward.

Keagen Fiala (2027 3B, Dardenne Prairie, MO) was seeing the ball extremely well today, as he picked up a hit in each of his three at bats. The young prospect has shown hitter's hands, and has a knack for finding holes in the defense. In his first two at bats, he smacked two line drives into left field for a pair of RBIs.

Antonio Johnson (2027 SS, Gladstone, MO) certainly made the most of his final at bat, as he drilled one into the left-center gap. This ball would roll all the way to the wall, as he hustled around the bases for an inside the park homerun.

Batting Practice Highlights

5/27/2023

Clark Cariker (2027 SS, Tulsa, OK) does a good job of using his lower half in his swing, shifting well and generating good jump off the barrel on a line when square.

Dylan Gerber (2027 SS, Bentonvile, AR) has looseness to his stroke and generates good separation and bat speed, showing some good projection traits through his round.

Mick Smead (2028 3B, Jones, MI) has a big frame and good strength for his age, and showed good ability to be accurate with the barrel and spray liners to all fields.

Malachi Foster (2027 SS, Hendersonville, TN) has an athletic stroke with loose hands and whip to the barrel, getting it into and through the zone on time and spraying liners back up the middle.

Cy Craft (2027 SS, Du Quoin, IL) had a great weekend overall, showing athleticism across multiple defensive spots as well as in the box. He has a loose and quick stroke with advanced bat speed.

Nicholas Long (2027 OF, Springfield, MO) raked all weekend including in BP, getting into his legs well and showing advanced strength at contact for his grade, driving the ball into the pull-gap with authority.

Landon Chaffin (2027 3B, Kansas City, MO) showed well in BP, gaining ground well and getting his foot down on time with a quick stroke that produced consistent barrel accuracy.

Mason Robertson (2027 LHP, Oak Creek, WI) had a great all-around weekend and his BP was no exception, showing a loose swing with whip to the barrel and consistent line drive results to all fields.

Cash Ryan (2028 RHP, Waverly, IA) has very advanced physicality and strength and showed it off in BP, taking some big swings and showing big lift and power to the pull-side.

Saturday Game Highlights

5/27/2023

Austin Fries (2027 RHP, Portage, WI) was up to 77 mph in his start today for Team Black, showing a big, running two-seam fastball that was tough to hit. He showed the ability to land a curveball as well, and he was cruising through his first two innings. His operation was simple and repeatable, and he utilized a short and compact arm action.

Evan Magnuson (2027 RHP, Platte City, MO) showed a lot to like on the bump for Team Black, as he ran his fastball up to 79 mph with a loose and easy arm. He stands at a long and lanky 6-foot-3, 150-pounds, and there is plenty of projection to dream on in the frame. His command improved as he settled in throughout his outing. The right-hander's fastball flashed some arm side life, and he can spin a solid curveball to boot.

Cy Craft (2027 SS, Du Quoin, IL) made some of the loudest contact of the day in his last at-bat of the game, as he crushed one to the fence in LF. He put a great swing on it, but unfortunately it was just foul. He would follow it up with a barrel right to the right-fielder a couple of pitches later. He also added a double in his first at bat today, making solid contact in each try. The young shortstop has shown notable power potential for his age.

Kam Smith (2027 RHP, Franklin, KS) had an excellent outing in his start for Team Royal, as he collected five strikeouts in three innings. He utilizes a clean and controlled operation with advanced mechanics for his age. He ran his fastball up to 80 mph, getting it to the glove side consistently and commanding it well. The right-hander showed the ability to break off a sharp slider with depth, and he was overall just a very polished prospect on the mound.

Mason Robertson (2027 LHP, Oak Creek, WI) was dominant on the bump for Team Royal, as he struck out six opposing batters in three innings and ran his fastball up to 78 mph. He showed advanced pitchability, spotting his fastball to each corner and landing his off speed with ease. The left-hander flashed a big sweeping slider and a solid changeup that he could turn over.

Keagen Fiala (2027 3B, Dardenne Prairie, MO) had a solid day at the park for Team Royal, as he collected a base hit and would almost create a run for his squad by himself. His hit came during his second at-bat of the day, as he shot one through the six-hole for a single. He would then steal second base on the next pitch, and take third on a heads up play. Thanks to his savvy base runnnig, he would score on a ground ball out to second base later in the inning.
