Shannon Martin is a 2022 MIF with a 5-9 183 lb. frame from New Orleans, LA. Compact athletic build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, starts his swing with a rock back load, moves into contact well with his lower half, line drive swing with some bat speed, swings hard with intent to drive the ball, showed the ability to drive the ball to the gaps with carry. 7.83 runner in the sixty. Has smooth footwork in the infield on defense, active lower half actions with good balance, hands work well at the ball, compact arm stroke with good carry across the diamond, probably best suited for third base at the next level. Took a turn on the mound, works from the stretch with a similar compact arm action from a high 3/4's slot, uses his lower half well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, works to both sides of the plate effectively. Slurve type curveball has depth at times, also threw a couple of change ups for a three-pitch mix of strikes. Solid all around player. Good student.
