Daniel Mateffy is a 2023 RHP/ with a 6-4 175 lb. frame from Philadelphia, PA who attends Germantown Friends. High-waisted, long, lean build with tons of projection remaining as he continues to fill out his frame. Primary right-handed pitcher, simple, athletic operation using his long levers to work downhill. Comes from an over-the-top arm slot with looseness and whip to his arm action. Fastball came out of his hand clean, flashing the ability to sinking and cut. Grabbed a quick 88 mph during his outing, holding in the mid -80's, working in all four quadrants of the strike zone. Showed advanced feel for slider, tight spin with horizontal depth, landing it for strikes. Generated a lot of swing-and-misses with the two-pitch combo. More velocity remains in the tank which he should tap into as he adds more strength. Excellent student. Named to 2021 Northeast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
