Robert Boykin is a 2021 RHP with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Midlothian, VA who attends St. Christopher's. Tall and slender athletic build, lots of physical projection remaining. Mid 3/4's arm slot, has good balance over the rubber with good direction and drive down the mound, compact and quick arm action hides the ball well. Steady low 80's fastball, topped out at 82 mph, locates the ball well glove side and works low in the zone. Tunnels his curveball well with his fastball but tends to slow his arm on the pitch. Will continue to improve as he gets physically stronger and keeps working on his secondary pitches. 7.53 runner, played both infield and outfield during drills. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with an upper body rotational swing, flashed some pull power late in his BP round when he was timed up. Very good student.
