Don Moritz is a 2022 3B/RHP with a 5-7 197 lb. frame from Dryden, VA who attends Lee. Utilized a medium frame with a stocky, strong lower half build. Filling out in the upper half as well with broad shoulders. Ran a 7.87 second sixty yard dash. Primary Thirdbaseman fielding the baseball underneath him with a gather up to the waist. Showed good feel with the glove. Accuracy showing on throws with arm showing some carry as well. Skill set shows well as a corner infielder. Secondary Righthanded pitcher starting square to the plate with a quick toe tap to a belt high leg lift from the windup. Similar mechanics from the stretch landing direct to the plate.Balanced at top of motion before showing a slightly uphill release. Shorter arm circle in the back showing a three-quarter release. Worked near the strike-zone at all times running his fastball up to 73 MPH that showed cut to it. He also flashed a 10-to-5 curveball showing depth. Righthanded hitter starting with an open front side before working into a high leg kick. Keeps weight on backside throughout swing. Bat wrap over the helmet before showing solid bat speed. Very strong hands creating loud contact as he found the barrel consistently. Middle of the field approach driving the baseball with intent. Outstanding Student.
