Sean Dipaola is a 2023 RHP/IF with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Merrick, NY who attends Sanford H Calhoun. Recorded a 5.05 second forty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a slender build and room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with simple belt high leg lift into balance and good stride length down the slope. Stays tall on his backside, riding the slope efficiently and generates good extension out in front to finish the pitch. Fastball worked in the upper-70s to low-80s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 81 mph from a lower three-quarters arm slot in this look. Strike thrower with some carry and occasional cut to the fastball, a developing 11-5 shaped breaking ball that varies in shape and a replicated changeup that displays good depth to it. Will continue to improve with additional velocity. Secondary infielder with anticipatory actions throughout the fielding process. Displays slight waist bend to field out in front and uses deliberate pace to get into the throwing position and release. Recorded arm strength up to 77 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Incorporates minimal weight shift into contact, while using a slightly downhill swing path. Developing bat-to-ball skills with best impact to the pullside. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Plenty of projection and upside remaining on the mound, showing best there during the event. Excellent Student.
