Darrell Mays is a 2022 OF/3B/SS with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Oakley, CA who attends Berkeley. Medium frame with some present physicality to his build. Ran a 7.49 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows good footwork around the outfield with athleticism to his actions, stays behind the ball well at receiving and carries momentum through release with strong and accurate throws to bags. Also worked out in the infield, moves well laterally and reads hops well while working through the ball with good momentum and generating strong throws across. Righthanded hitter, sets up wide in the base and works explosively to contact; generates very good bat speed and is easily able to get the barrel out while using his strength to lift the ball a long way to the middle of the field. Very good student. Named to 2021 March Northern California Workout Camp Top Prospect List.
