Caughlin Shults is a 2020 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Grants Pass, OR who attends Hidden Valley. Medium frame with lean, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.37 seconds. Stood out most defensively, fields out front with clean funnel in hands, good athleticism in footwork around the bag and overall body control, turns smoothly and efficiently, quick release with throws clocked up to 80 mph. Hits from open-based stance, big stride into swing, looseness to stroke with good extension, linear path with solid bat speed, projects with strength. Also pitched, inline with hips downhill but lands very closed off on front foot, high three quarters arm slot, fastball worked 80-82 mph with plane, also showed good power and bite to slider in mid-upper 70's. Good student.
