Chris Akers is a 2021 C/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Elmwood Park, IL who attends Elmwood Park. Recorded a 7.11 second 60 yard dash time. Lean and athletic frame with present strength to the build. Primary catcher with quick feet and a longer arm action. Clean transfer at the chest, stays low throughout and is explosive out of the crouch. Gains very little ground towards second base, just gets his body turned around and then throws. Shows a strong arm, recorded a 1.87 second pop time at 79 mph. Secondary third baseman with soft hands and stiffer actions, showed some athleticism by making plays on the move. Right-handed hitter with wide stance and pull side approach. Long and flat swing plane with present bat speed, shows great balance and extension. Hands are quick, swings with intent and looks to elevate. Pulls his head at times, produced solid contact and has definite power potential moving forward, the swing projects. Great student.
