Max Jones is a 2020 RHP with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Patrick Henry HS. Compact frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size and strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple rock step delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side at gather. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Lands in line with front side and works over a flexed front leg to the plate. Fastball come out of hand cleanly generated some downward tilt through the zone in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball created 11/5 to 12/6 shape with good spin and hard depth when staying on top of offering. Also flashed a changeup offering that displayed some fade to arm side in the upper 60's. Consistently looked to challenge hitters to the bottom of the zone while effectively changing speed. Excellent student.
