Hiro Wyatt is a 2023 RHP with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Westport, CT who attends King & Low-Heywood Thomas School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with long limbs and room to fill throughout. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up to belt at start and incorporates lower half some down the mound, projects with additional drive. Long and loose arm action through the back with some whip to a lower three-quarters release point; fastball topped out at 85 mph, ball comes out cleanly with short sinking life down in the zone and worked around the plate. Slider shows tight rotation and tight break with 10-4 shape at 72 mph, maintains arm speed through the back at release; replicates on changeup well also, up to 79 mph with fading life to arm side. Righthanded hitter, begins with a higher hand set and utilizes a short leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Lowers hands in load at start of swing, occasionally gets mistimed, shows quickness to barrel through the zone. Line drive contact off the barrel, projects for power with physical strength gains, worked to the middle of the field with occasional lift. Very good student. Named to the 14u National Showcase Top Prospect List. Selected for the 2019 14u PG Select Festival.
