Mason Owens is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Melissa, TX who attends Melissa. Primary outfielder with a young slender build showing athleticism and solid upside projection to look forward to. Showed above average speed with a 6.71 second sixty. Has solid actions in the outfield working through the ball with momentum while gathering and gaining good ground toward the target. Arm works long and easy through the back with solid arm strength topping out at 85 mph with carry. Worked from the stretch only on the mound with a leg lift to the belt and long arm action through the back staying online mostly to a three-quarters arm slot. Has some drop and drive actions on the back side using the lower half efficiently with good extension. Pitched off the fastball at the top of the zone with solid arm speed topping out at 83 mph. Fastball sets up the mid 70’s slider with horizontal bite as his second offering. Right-handed hitter starts with an upright stance and even base. Shows some bat speed with twitchy hands getting on plane early with good feel for the barrel to create some linear contact. Very good student. Named to the 2023 South Central Prospect Top Prospect List.
