Jacob Kmatz is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Sandia. Big and strong athletic build. Full on line arm circle in back, stays tall on his back side well, 3/4's to high 3/4's arm tight arm slot, gets good downhill plane on his fastball. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, very low spin rate fastball that is heavy down in the zone, maintains his velocity well out of the stretch. Solid curveball as a second offering, creates good spin and tight 11/5 shape. Threw strikes and mixed his pitches well and had an effective outing. Very good student, verbal commitment to Oregon State.
