Nick Marley is a 2020 MIF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Damascus, MD who attends Damascus High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and stays low through actions, extra step moving through release and works with a shorter arm stroke through the back, occasionally opens front side early, accurate throws and showed smoothness to actions on the turn around second base bag. Also pitched, big side step moving into delivery with a leg lift up to belt; hip turn at top while working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, pitched to contact and induced it early in the count, worked down in the zone and shows life in on the hands. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide and slightly open stance; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Full swing path through the zone with a long finish through the point of contact, moving parts to swing and occasionally gets mistimed. Shows strength when on time with carry off the barrel, best contact to pull side when on time. Good student.
