Corey Guevara is a 2021 OF/RHP, 1B, 3B, MIF with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from San Pedro, CA who attends Torrance HS. Corey is a long and lean athlete who shows quickness and agility and has the frame to add size and strength as he matures. He ran a very impressive 6.83 60-yard dash. A primary OF, Corey shows quick feet and positions well. He plays through the fielding action with a sure glove. His 81-mph throws have sound carry and accuracy. On the hill, Corey, uses a longer arm action, a 3/4 slot and an easy, smooth throwing action. The ball comes out of his hand easily and he works down the slope consistently. He repeats his mechanics and is poised and focused. He pitches off his 73-77 mph FB that shows occasional arm side run. His command and control is commendable. He compliments his FB with a 57-mph, 12-to-6 breaking CB that shows depth at the plate. As a hitter, Corey shows sound hand quickness and fires the bat with some force. There is looseness in each pass and shows plus power to the gaps. Lastly, Corey is an excellent student.
