Matthew Strzelecki is a 2019 LHP/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Cumming, GA who attends West Forsyth HS. Medium and wiry frame with plenty of room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.77 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, sets up on the third base side of the rubber, begins windup with a simple turn step up to a high ¾ arm slot, takes arm back to a compact arm action up to a low 3/4 arm slot, showed the ability to vary arm angles with consistent command, was especially tough on lefthanded hitters mixing a fastball and slider combination of pitches. Fastball is mostly straight while flashing sink at times topping out at 84 mph, slider shows two plane shape with some lat biting action, filled up the strike zone and repeats his mechanics well, crafty lefty. Secondary outfielder, comes to the baseball with athletic actions, short stride into release, average arm strength topping out at 82 mph from the outfield. Lefthanded hitter, sets up with a spread out stance, could utilize a weight shift into contact for additional bat speed, simple swing and calm approach, gets some jump when squared, took a good round of batting practice with mostly pull side line drive contact. Good student. Named to 2018 Fall Academic Top Prospect List.
