Mason Nichols is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-5 205 lb. frame from Jackson, MS who attends Jackson Preparatory. Lengthy athletic build with good physicality, posted a 7.04 second 60 yard dash time. Primary pitcher, has a long and loose arm action from a high three-quarters to over the top slot. Free and easy thrower down the mound. Fastball up to 90 mph, good arm side run on the pitch. Finds good downward angle when located down in the zone. Likes to work away from hitters. 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball has good late bite to the plate. Flashed plus ability. At first base, stays in front of the ball well and showcases good footwork off the bag. Glove works cleanly out in front and throws are accurate to all bags. At the plate, uses a wide and upright stance with a flat bat path through the zone that gets on plane quickly. Middle of the field approach, excellent student in the classroom as well.
